Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida State Director of Athletics Randy Spetman announced Thursday that Florida State will allow fans to bring their own stadium seats into Doak Campbell as long as they do not exceed maximum specifications of width, depth and height.

“We made the move to eliminate outside stadium chairs in response to a large number of complaints we have received over the last few seasons from fans indicating their neighbors were bringing stadium seats that were bigger than the assigned space,” said Spetman.  “I want to assure all our fans that this was a customer care issue from the very start, but we do want a resolution that works for both the parties complaining about the size of the stadium seats and those who would like to bring their own.  It is hard to limit the size of the stadium chairs without inconveniencing fans at the gates but this resolution should accommodate our fan base.”

Florida State will allow fans to bring stadium chairs into the football games that are no larger than 16 inches wide, 11 inches deep and 13 inches high.  No chairs will be allowed through the gates that exceed any of those three dimensions or that have foldout arms or storage pockets in the back that are not empty.

Stadium cushions have always been allowed in Doak Campbell Stadium and a limited number of chair backs are available for rent once inside the stadium
