TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Florida State football players Rashad Greene, Dustin Hopkins and Zebrie Sanders have been selected to the 52-member 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, announced Wednesday by Commissioner John Swofford.

It's the 58th season the league has recognized its most outstanding football players who combine academic prowess with on-field excellence. Players must have earned a minimum 3.00 grade point average for the fall semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during their academic careers in order to be eligible for consideration.

Hopkins earned All-ACC Academic honors for the third consecutive season while Sanders picked up the honor for the second straight season. Greene earned All-ACC Academic honors in his rookie season.

Hopkins, a junior kicker majoring in media and communications studies, led the ACC in points per game (8.5) and ranked second in total points (110). He tied for the conference lead in field goals with 22 with Clemson's Chandler Catanzaro. Hopkins, a junior, enters his final season in 2012 with 326 career points, which ties him for 5th on the ACC career scoring list. He would need 68 points next fall to break the ACC career scoring mark of 393 points set by Maryland's Nick Novak from 2001-04.

Sanders, a four-year starter who earned his degree in retail merchandising and product development last December, started 50 career games for the Seminoles at offensive tackle. He was an honorable mention All-America selection by Pro Football Weekly and earned first team All-ACC honors.

Greene, a freshman wide receiver majoring in nursing, was named an honorable mention Freshman All-America by College Football News (CFN). He led the Seminoles in catches (38), receiving yards (596) and receiving touchdowns (7) in just nine games played. He capped off his freshman campaign with five catches for 99 yards and TD to earn most valuable player in the Champs Sports Bowl win over Notre Dame.
