Tallahassee, FL - The Seminole football team will return to Jacksonville in 2008. Florida State will play the University of Colorado in Jacksonville Municipal Stadium September 27. This is the second consecutive season that the Seminole football team will play in Jacksonville. Last season FSU beat the University of Alabama 21-14 in front of 85,412 fans. At the time it was the largest crowd to ever watch a game played in Municipal Stadium.
"I am glad we could work out all the necessary arrangements," said FSU Interim AD Dr. Bill Proctor. "We are very pleased that the Florida State football team will once again be playing in Jacksonville. I think it is good to have a game somewhere else in the state especially when we have eight home games scheduled this year.
"This game in Jacksonville will give a number of Seminole fans an opportunity to see Florida State play in another venue. It also gives the team great exposure playing in Jacksonville."
In 2007 the Seminoles traveled to Boulder to face Colorado. Florida State held the Buffaloes scoreless until 3:39 left in the game before a late TD cut the score to 16-6. It was nearly the first shutout of Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins career and would have been the first shutout of Colorado in nearly two decades.
Tickets for the game with Colorado in Jacksonville will be available for purchase through the Seminole Ticket Office. All football tickets will go on sale at www.seminoles.com shortly after the entire football schedule is announced. Specific information regarding prices and availability will be available at that time.
