Offensive Guard

At Florida State: One of four returning All-Americans for the Seminoles in 1999...also named first team All-ACC along with fellow offensive lineman Ross Brannon last season...the Seminoles return all five starters on the offensive front and Whitaker is the most experienced and the leader of the group...led last year's offen-sive unit that reached the National Championship game with only two seniors in the starting lineup...has started every game for the Semi-noles over the last two seasons and a total of 28 over his career.

Junior Year (1998): Joined Peter Warrick, Sebastian Janikowski and Corey Simon as one of four Seminoles named to All-America teams when he was named to the Football Writer's first team...voted a third team Associated Press of seven Seminoles named first team All-ACC last year...also named to the All-ACC Academic team last year...started all 13 games at split guard for the Tribe during their run to the National Championship game...named a Dominator of the Week after the NC State and Virginia games...led the offensive line with 36.5 intimidations...did not allow a sack all eight-time member of the Victor's Club.

Sophomore Year (1997): Became one of FSU's most dependable players...started all 13 games at split guard and earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors... named FSU's Dominator of the Week after the Duke game...was a nine-time member of the Victor's Club...FSU's running game improved steadily throughout last season due in no small part to the emergence of Whitaker as a top blocker ...provided excellent pass protection and was rarely beaten.

Freshman Year (1996): Had a productive season as a red-shirt freshman...was the first FSU offensive lineman since Lewis Tyre in 1992 to start the first game as a true freshman...started the next game, at NC State and against North Carolina, before coming off the bench for the next nine...earned Victor's Club honors following the NC State, Miami and Maryland contests...had 13 pancakes on the season.

1995: Redshirted.

High School: One of the most accomplished offensive linemen to come out of Mosley High in the last 10 years...second team All-South choice by Forrest Davis...rated the state's No. 4 offensive tackle by Florida Times-Union...National Recruiting Advisor tabbed him a top 15 offensive tackle in the Southeast ...member of Atlanta Constitution's Super Southern 100 team.
