At Florida State: The Seminoles' starting quarterback in the Sugar Bowl against Georgia who enters fall practice second on the depth chart ...underwent right shoulder surgery on Jan. 17, 2003 and was limited during spring practice though he did play in the spring game...originally signed with Florida State in 1999 but never enrolled...after not meeting academic standards during the fall of 1999, he did not attend any college that fall and enrolled at Florida State during the spring of 2000...partici-pated in spring drills in 2000 but was forced, by Atlantic Coast Confer-ence rule, to earn an associate of arts degree before re-enrolling and competing for the Seminoles...earned his A.A. degree at Jones (Miss.) Sophomore Year (2002): Named the starter for Florida State's game against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on Dec. 17 after having played in only four games as a sophomore...completed a career-high seven passes on a career-high 12 attempts for a career-high 69 yards as he played the first quarter and a half and the first series of the second half before he was injured while being sacked by Georgia's Will Thompson...threw his first career touchdown to Anquan Boldin with 13:41 remaining in the second quarter to give Florida State a 7-3 lead...completed his first two passes against the Bulldogs for 24 yards and seven of his first 10 passes of the game...completed his first career pass attempt to Craphonso Thorpe for 39 yards in the Seminoles' 37-10 victory over Maryland...was one-of-one in his first career appearance...also totaled seven yards on two rushing attempts against Maryland...completed four-of-seven passes for 35 yards in Florida State's victory over Duke...completed a 19-yard pass to Travis Smith as the clock ran out on Florida State's 48-17 victory over the Blue Devils.
Freshman (2001): A redshirt season at Florida State...forced to sit-out because of an ACC rule that mandates players who spend only one year at a junior college redshirt one season before being allowed to compete.
