At Florida State: Comes off an excellent spring where he was named the most outstanding defensive player...excellent cover corner who should be extremely productive in his senior season...moved ahead of veteran Mario Edwards last year and proved to be an outstanding player...played the entire Sugar Bowl game as Edwards was injured...good size and speed make him tough to get by...was voted the spring's most improved cornerback after his freshman and sophomore years.
Junior Year (1999): Started in the national championship game after emerging as one of FSU's top three corners along with Tay Cody and Edwards...recorded five tackles, including one for a loss of six yards against Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl...started six games during the regular season, two at left cornerback and four at right cornerback...three interceptions on the season were the second most on the team...key member of the FSU secondary that led the nation with 22 interceptions...nine of his 20 tackles were on third down...his seven pass breakups were the third most on the team...had two tackles and two pass breakups in regular season finale against Florida...forced a fumble near the goaline in the season opener against Louisiana Tech...had one of two tackles for a loss by FSU cornerbacks on the season (Cody had the other).
Sophomore Year (1998): Played in all 13 games...backed up Tay Cody at the right cornerback position...contributed 10 tackles...six of his stops were unassisted ...deflected a pass in the NC State game...also registered a tackle for loss against the Wolfpack ...named to the Victor's Club list against Duke, Miami, Clemson and Florida...also garnered kicking game Victor's Club honors against USC.
Freshman Year (1997): Saw action in eight games as a backup as a true freshman ...recorded two solo tackles on the season in Duke and Wake Forest games...had a third-down stop against Wake Forest.
High School: A SuperPrep All-American following his senior season at Miami Senior High School...played both offense and defense, throwing for more than 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns and adding five interceptions as a senior...returned two punts for touchdowns...named All-Dade County as a return man...listed on the Tallahassee Democrat Top 50 and Florida Times-Union Super 75...listed as the 23rd best prospect in Florida by the St. Pete Times....rated as the No. 20 prospect in Florida by SuperPrep ...chose FSU over Miami, Clemson and Florida.
