At Florida State: Enters the fall as number one on the depth chart at tight end for the second straight year...one of the biggest surprises of the 1999 season...earned the starting tight end job in preseason practice last year and never relinquished it...earned the Second Effort Award and Most Dependable for his position following spring drills...caught one pass for an 11-yard touchdown for the Garnet team in the spring game... former walk-on who earned a scholarship during the 1997 season after playing sparringly in his first two seasons...has also played fullback and center during his FSU career.

Junior Year (1999): Named co-most improved player of the offense...opened every game at the tight end position...finished the season with five receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown...season-long catch of 26 yards came in the season-opener against Louisiana Tech...touchdown reception was an 18-yarder from Chris Weinke that tied the Miami game at 21...the touchdown was his first at any level of football...had one catch for 16 yards against NC State...also had a seven-yarder against Georgia Tech and a nine-yarder at Virginia...excellent blocker who won the starting job due to those skills...also sees time on FSU's field goal and PAT units.

Sophomore Year (1998): Appeared in every game during the Seminoles' 11-2 campaign...saw time on special teams, at tight end and at fullback...did not catch a pass...served as a blocking back and blocking tight end in short yardage formations.

Freshman Year (1997): Hard work landed him a scholarship in the preseason...played in every game as a member of special teams...began the year at center before moving to tight end.

1996: Redshirted after walking on to the squad...served as a member of the scout team.

High School: Played tight end, defensive end and linebacker at Lakeside High School...caught 14 passes for 140 yards during his senior season...earned honorable mention All-Central Savannah River Area in his final year...was honored with the Captain's Award by the football coaches as a sen-ior...also lettered in wrestling for two seasons...also named MVP of the wrestling team in his senior season.

Personal: Sport management major...celebrates a November 3, 1977 birthday.
