At Florida State: Will backup Chris Weinke at quarterback...may see some action at wide receiver after working some with the unit in the spring... also serves as the holder on all extra points and field goals...completed 9-of-21 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns in the spring game...saw action in all 12 games in 1999...stepped in for an injured Chris Weinke in 1998 and led the Seminoles to wins over Virginia, Wake Forest and Florida and a berth in the National Championship game...tough competitor who earned Seminole folk-hero status after his gutsy performance in the win over UF...named the most dependable quarterback by the offensive coaches after the 1999 spring game.

Junior Year (1999): Backed up Chris Weinke at quarterback while also holding on all extra points and field goals for Sebastian Janikowski...played in all 12 games...threw for 169 yards on 12-of-26 passing with one touchdown and one interception...also rushed 20 times for 41 yards and one touchdown...entered the Sugar Bowl on a crucial third-down possession in the fourth quarter and pitched out to Travis Minor for the first down...came in on select short yardage situations to pick up first downs on quarterback sneaks...helped Janikowski rank first nationally in field goals per game and third in the country in scoring.

Sophomore Year (1998): Played in all 13 games, while starting the final three games of the season at quarterback...pressed into action in the second half of the Virginia game, leading the Seminoles to 24 second-half points...completed 6-of-7 passes in that game for 67 yards...threw his first career touchdown pass of 32 yards to Peter Warrick in leading the Seminoles to a 23-12 victory against Florida...finished the game 13-of-22 for 167 yards and one touchdown...completed 9-of-22 passes for 145 in the National Championship game versus Tennessee...made his first career start against Wake Forest, connecting on 11-of-19 passes for 164 yards and one interception...finished the season 36-of-60 for 464 yards and one touchdown...rushed the ball 48 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns on the season...saw action in the fourth quarter of the NC State game, completing 4-of-8 passes for 42 yards.

Freshman Year (1997): Played in all 13 games in the overshadowed role of holder for extra points and field goals...had one rush for eight yards in limited action at quarterback and did not attempt a pass.

1996: Redshirted along with most of his class.

High School: Rushed for 18 TDs as he led Ft. Walton Beach High to the Class 5A state championship as a senior ...threw for 1,187 yards with 10 touchdowns and just four interceptions...completed 69 of 118 passes (58.5%) as a senior ...also ran track and played baseball...a Super 24 honorable mention selection...listed in the Tallahassee Democrat's Top 50...received Max Emfinger's rating of 9.5 (highest - 10.6)...attended same high school as former Florida State standout receiver E.G. Green and Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel...honor student at Ft. Walton Beach...selected FSU over Auburn and South Carolina.
