Junior Year (1999) Started the season-opener against Louisiana Tech and saw considerable playing time at center all year...backed up senior All-ACC center Eric Thomas last year...gave coaches the ability to have a fresh center in the game at all times last year.
Sophomore Year (1998): Took over starting center duties for the final three games of the season, including the Fiesta Bowl against Tennessee...also opened against Wake Forest and Florida...backed up Eric Thomas during the first 10 games of the year...named a Dominator of the Week after the Virginia game...member of the Victor's Club after performances against Miami, Virginia and Wake Forest...allowed only one sack on the year.
Freshman Year (1997): Saw action with the offense in six games while playing in all games on special teams in his redshirt freshman season...proved to be a very consistent performer... continued to concentrate on learning the offensive blocking schemes and the intricate FSU system.
High School: Considered the top center in the state and one of the best in the country while at Bay High in nearby Panama City...first team Class 5A all-state performer as a junior and senior...earned All-America honors from SuperPrep and was a honorable mention choice by USA Today...named to the Florida Super Seniors team...played for Team Florida in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game...chose FSU over Georgia, Notre Dame and South Carolina.
