Freshman Year (1996): Served as the backup to Andre Wadsworth at noseguard...saw action in 11 games...recorded 31 tackles on the year...ranked fourth on the team with 11 tackles for loss...was third among defensive linemen in tackles for loss... stepped into the starting lineup for three games when Wadsworth was injured...registered five tackles and a sack in his first start against Wake Forest...also started against Southern Miss and Maryland...named to the Victor's Club after the Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Southern Miss and Maryland games...received Tomahawk Player of the Game award after the Southern Miss contest when he turned in a season-high seven stops and recorded a safety...registered the first sack of his career at Georgia Tech and followed with sacks in each of the next three games (Wake Forest, Southern Miss and Maryland)...began the season as FSU's snapper on field goals and extra points but relinquished the job after the Clemson game.
