At Florida State: Enters his senior year as the returning starter at split
guard after starting all 12 games in 1999...tied with Montrae Holland as the strongest players on the FSU team with a 515 lb. bench press...spent first two
seasons at FSU as a reserve along the offensive front...named the Most
Dependable Offensive Lineman during the spring drills.
Junior Year (1999): Won starting honors at split guard in preseason drills
and went on to start all 12 games at the position...improved every week and
had a very solid first year as a starter...very strong with good football
instincts...played exceptionally well over last four games of the year, including the national championship game against Virginia Tech.
Sophomore Year (1998): Saw action in 11 games as a backup to Jason
Whitaker at split guard...one of two offensive linemen who did not give up
a sack all season...saw the majority of his action on special teams with
the field goal units...saw significant playing time and improved steadily
over the course of the year.
Freshman Year (1997): Served as a backup to Donald Heaven at tight
guard...appeared in every game during the season...saw the majority of his
action on special teams but also received scrimmage snaps in five
contests...gained valuable game experience against Maryland, Miami, Duke,
Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.
1996: Redshirted.
High School: Named to the Florida Super Seniors team...a Class 4A second
team all-state selection...tabbed a Tampa Tribune Blue Chipper...member of
the Super 24 team...led Eustis to the Class 4A quarter finals...one of
eight members of FSU's recruiting class selected to play for Team Florida
in the Florida-Georgia High School All-Star game...selected FSU over
Florida and Miami.
Personal: Born August 27, 1978...a food and nutrition major...father,
Richard, played football at Florida State from 1969-71 and played two
seasons with the Baltimore Colts.
