Dec. 3, 2003
Tallahassee, FL - Florida State University head men's basketball coach Leonard Hamilton will host the Junior Noles Basketball Club for boys in Kindergarten through eighth grade and can learn from the Coach who has led the Seminoles to a 5-0 start to the 2003-04 season. Junior Nole camp participants will receive four teaching sessions on basketball fundamentals and instruction by Florida State players such as Tim Pickett and Anthony Richardson along with Hamilton and Seminoles assistant coaches. The sessions will be held at the new state of the art Florida State Basketball Training center.
Along with the valuable lessons the participants will learn on the court, Hamilton will also stress off the court life lessons such as the importance of having a healthy lifestyle, goal setting, and building self-esteem. Hamilton, who has 100% player graduation rate during his tenure at Florida State, will also teach the value of success in classroom.
During halftime of the February 1st, 2004, Seminole home game vs. Savannah State the participants will have a chance to perform what they have learned from their experiences during the club for family, friends and all fans. This is a great opportunity for young basketball players to come and develop skills on and off the court.
For a registration brochure, please log onto the camp section on seminoles.com and click on the men's basketball section. The camp will be held on four Saturday afternoons in December (27) and January (10, 24, 31) and space is limited to the first 125 students to sign up.
