TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Led by Chris Singleton - the most dynamic player in all of college basketball during the first month of the 2010-11 season -- the Florida State Seminoles play host to the Florida Gators on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 7:45 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. Singleton enters Sunday's nationally televised game averaging a double-double of a career-high 17.4 points and a career-high of 10.8 rebounds per game. He has earned one triple double (22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals against UNC Greensboro) and three double doubles in the first five games of the season as Florida State has won each of its games by an average of 23.2 points per game. The Seminoles enter Sunday's game against the Gators having won three consecutive games against their rivals to the south in games played in Tallahassee and three of the last four games overall in the series. Following Sunday's game against Florida, the Seminoles will play host to No. 3/3 Ohio State in the 12th Annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge series in Tallahassee on Tuesday at 7:30. That game will be nationally televised by ESPN.

FLORIDA STATE'S SINGLETON NAMED ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chris Singleton, who earned a pair of double doubles and averaged a double double in two Florida State victories last week, was named the ACC Player of the Week by the league office. Singleton scored a career-high 30 points to go along with 12 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots and two steals in Florida State's victory over Gardner Webb and totaled 14 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal in the Seminoles' victory on the road at FIU. In Florida State's two games last week he averaged 22.0 points and 12.5 rebounds. It marked the first time the reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Week has been named the ACC Player of the Week during his career.

THE SINGLETON CAMPAIGN
Junior forward Chris Singleton is an All-American candidate and a candidate for the Wooden and Naismith Awards as the nation's top player, the top candidate for the Henry Iba Award as the nation's top defender, an All-ACC candidate and the top candidate to win the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season.

LOOK FOR FLORIDA STATE TO...
...Defeat No. 14/15 Florida and gain a victory over the Gators at home for the fourth consecutive time. The Seminoles defeated the Gators in Tallahassee in 2005 (82-69), 2006 (70-66) and 2008 (57-55); ...Defeat No. 14/15 Florida and gain a win over a ranked Gator team for the fourth time in the last five meetings between the two teams. The Seminoles are 3-0 this season at home, were 8-0 in non ACC games during the 2009-10 season and won their final non conference home game of the 2008-09 season.

...Become the first Florida State player to earn four consecutive double doubles since Douglas Edwards earned four straight in games against Clemson (Jan. 20, 1993, 12 points and 10 rebounds), Duke (Jan. 24, 1993, 21 points and 12 rebounds), North Carolina (Jan. 27, 1993, 16 points and 12 rebounds) and Georgia Tech (Jan. 31, 1993, 22 points and 12 rebounds) during the 1992-93 season. Edwards was the 15th overall selection in the first round of the 1993 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. The school record for consecutive double doubles is 18 by Seminole All-American and NBA Hall of Famer Dave Cowens during the 1968-69 season.

SINGLETON CONTINUES BLAZING HOT START TO JUNIOR SEASON
All-American, Wooden and Naismith Award candidate Chris Singleton enters Sunday's game against Florida averaging a double-double of 17.4 points and 10.8 rebounds in the first five games of the 2010-11 season. He earned the first TRIPLE DOUBLE of his career with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals against UNC Greensboro and has earned DOUBLE DOUBLES in the Seminoles' last three games against Gardner Webb (a career-high 30 points and 12 rebounds), at FIU (14 points and 13 rebounds) and against Mercer (10 points and 13 rebounds). His performance against UNC Greensboro earned him the first TRIPLE DOUBLE in ACC history that included double figures in steals while his DOUBLE DOUBLES against Gardner Webb and FIU mark the first time in his career that he has earned double figures in points and rebounds in back to back games.

...Outscored and outrebounded each of its first five opponents so far this season; ...Outscored each of its first five opponents in each of its first 10 halves of basketball; ...Won five consecutive games by at least 20 points. The Seminoles' largest win came by 25 points against Gardner Webb and its smallest was by 20 in their season opening win over North Florida.

FLORIDA STATE SHOOTING THE BASKETBALL VERY WELL
Led by junior All-American candidate Chris Singleton, who is shooting .549 from the field, .383 from the bonusphere and .813 from the free throw line, the Seminoles are among the top all-around shooting teams in the ACC. In winning their first five games of the 2010-11 season, the Seminoles are shooting more than four percentage points better from the field this season, more than two percentage points better from the 3-point line and six percentage points better from the free throw line in averaging more than 15 points scored per game this season (83.6) as compared to last season (68.2).

FLORIDA STATE'S IMPROVEMENT FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Led by junior All-American candidate Chris Singleton, who is shooting a career-high .813 from the free throw line, the Seminoles enter Sunday's game against Florida shooting .710 from the free throw line through the first five games of the season. The Seminoles' overall improvement from the free throw line is led by their quintet of starters who are shooting a combined .763 from the free throw line (58-76) as compared to last season when Florida State's starters shot .655 (326 of 497) from the free throw line.

FLORIDA STATE'S IMPROVEMENT FROM THE FIELD
Led by junior All-American candidate Chris Singleton, the Seminoles' starters are shooting a combined .510 from the field entering Sunday's game against Florida. Led by Singleton's career-high .549 shooting mark from the field, a total of four Florida State starters are shooting .500 or better form the field.
