SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which has won four of its first five games of the 2013-14 season, plays Northeastern in the third-place game of the 2013 Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. (ET). The Seminoles defeated No. 10/10 VCU, 85-67, in the first round of the event and fell in overtime to No. 13/14 Michigan, 82-80, in the semifinals on Friday night. The Seminoles' win over No. 10 VCU on Thursday night marked the first win by an ACC team against a ranked opponent this season. Florida State's win over VCU on Thursday was its first over a ranked team since topping No. 4 North Carolina on March 12, 2012 to win the ACC Tournament Championship. Florida State's game against Northeastern marks the first game between the Seminoles and the Huskies in the sport of basketball. Following Sunday's game against Northeastern, the Seminoles travel to play at No. 14/16 Florida on Friday, Nov. 29 at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville.

FLORIDA STATE VS. NORTHEASTERN - A SERIES HISTORY
Florida State will meet Northeastern in the third place game of the 2013 Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 4:30 ET. It marks the first time in school history that the two teams will meet and these two head coaches (Leonard Hamilton and Bill Coen) will coach against each other. The last time Florida State played a member of the Colonial Athletic Association was at home at the Donald L. Tucker Center on December 18, 2007 when the Seminoles took a 66-61 win over the College of Charleston. Florida State holds a perfect winning record of 8-0 against teams from the Colonial Athletic Association. Northeastern's Coen spent nine seasons (1997-2006) as a member of the Boston College coaching staff (four as assistant coach and five as associate head coach), helping lead the team to six postseason berths including a trip to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in 2006. Florida State is 9-11 against teams from the state of Massachusetts.

WHITE ONLY EIGHT FROM 1,000
Senior Okaro White enters Sunday's game against Northeastern with 992 career points and needs only eight points to become the 43rd player in school history to score 1,000 or more career points. White is averaging a near double double of 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds this season and has scored in double figures in each of the Seminoles' first five games of the season. The last Seminole player to reach the 1,000 point milestone was Michael Snaer during the 2011-12 season. Florida State's all-time leading scorer is All-American Bob Sura who scored 2,130 career points. Sura was a member of two NCAA Tournament teams at FSU from 1992-95.

MILLER CONTINUES SCORING STREAK
Senior Ian Miller scored a team-high 19 points against No. 13/14 Michigan - his highest scoring output against a nationally ranked team during his career. It also marked his career-high tying fourth consecutive double figure scoring game and the career high fourth consecutive game in which he has led the Seminoles in scoring. Miller scored in double figures in four consecutive games twice during his sophomore season when he averaged a career-high 10.3 points per game - the only season during his career that he has averaged in double figures in scoring during his career - until this season. He enters Sunday's game against Northeastern averaging a career high and team-leading 17.4 points scored per game. He is averaging 19.8 points in the last four games with 18 coming in a win over UCF, 20 in a victory over UT Martin, his career-high of 22 coming in the Seminoles' early-season signature win over VCU and 19 against Michigan. Miller is shooting .548 percent from the field (23 of 42) and .434 percent from the bounsphere (10 of 23) during his torrid scoring streak.

MILLER FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Ian Miller enters Sunday's game against Northeastern ranked fourth in the ACC with a .926 (25 of 27) free throw shooting percentage. He has made 24 consecutive free throws and has not missed from the line since the 7:50 mark of the second half of Florida State's win over Jacksonville on Nov. 8. Miller has been perfect against UCF (seven of seven), UT Martin (seven of seven), VCU (eight of eight) and Michigan (one of one).
