TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ( - Florida State, which won the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic with wins over BYU and Saint Joseph's at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last weekend, returns home for the first game of a six game homestand as it plays host to North Florida on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The Seminoles enter Wednesday's game against the Ospreys on a three game winning streak with wins over Buffalo (Nov. 12, 95-68), BYU (Nov. 16, 88-70) and Saint Joseph's (Nov. 17, 73-66). The Seminoles did not trail at any time during their wins over Buffalo or BYU.

Florida State plays North Florida in its third home game of the season on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The Ospreys will be the first of three opponents (four games) from the state of Florida that the Seminoles will play this season. The Seminoles will also face the University of Florida and the University of Miami (twice) during the season. The game marks the second time meeting between Florida State and North Florida. Florida State defeated North Florida, 75-55, in the 2010-11 season opener for both teams. North Florida's head coach -- Matthew Driscoll -- was an assistant at Clemson University (1998-2003). The game between the Ospreys and the Seminoles will be Florida State's first meeting of the season with a team from the Atlantic Sun conference. The Seminoles last faced a team from the Atlantic Sun with a home victory over Stetson by a score 79-66 on Nov. 11, 2011. Florida State has an all-time record of 106-42 against the current teams from the Atlantic Sun conference.

Florida State won the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic with wins over BYU and St. Joseph's at the newly opened and spectacular Barclay's Center in New York. In beating both the Cougars and the Hawks by a combined total of 24 points, the Seminoles defeated two teams who are both expected to enjoy strong seasons on the national stage. The Cougars were picked to finish in second place in the West Coast Conference in a vote of the leagues nine head coaches and the Hawks were selected as the preseason Atlantic 10 Conference champions in the preseason poll by the coaches and the media.

Florida State's championship in the 2012 Coaches' vs. Cancer Classic marked the third regular season tournament (and fourth overall) in the last five seasons for Leonard Hamilton's Seminoles. Hamilton guided the Seminoles to the titles at the 2008 Las Vegas Global Sports Classic Tournament and the 2009 Old Spice Classic along with the 2012 ACC Tournament championship. A total of three players - Joey Moreau, Terrence Shannon, Michael Snaer - have been a members of three tournament championship teams during their careers (Old Spice, ACC and Coaches vs. Cancer).

Florida State's Michael Snaer, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic this past weekend, was named the ACC Basketball Player of the Week by the ACC Office. Snaer averaged 16.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists while making nine of 16 shots from the 3-point line as he led Florida State to a 3-0 record and to the championship of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. He recorded his second career double double in the Seminoles' win over BYU and averaged 28.3 minutes played in the Seminoles' three wins during the week. It marks the second time in his career that he has earned the award - he earned the award for the first time following his buzzer-beating 3-point shot that propelled Florida State over Duke on Jan. 21, 2012. Snaer's best performance of the week came in a 16-point and 10 rebound performance against BYU in the semifinals of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Snaer made four field goals (three from long range) and was a perfect five of five from the free throw line. He totaled 11 points and four rebounds in the second half to propel Florida State to as many as a 27-point lead midway through the second half.

The Seminoles have defeated Buffalo, BYU and Saint Joseph's in succession entering Wednesday's game; ...Defeat North Florida and win its seventh consecutive home game against a team from the state of Florida. Since defeating Stetson on Dec. 15 2011, the Seminoles have won consecutive games against the Hatters, Miami, Jacksonville, UCF, Stetson (again) and Miami (again) in the last two seasons.
