TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State University senior Okaro White, the Seminoles' leading returning scorer entering the 2013-14 season, is featured on the cover of The Sporting News college basketball preview magazine. White and his Seminole teammates are preparing to tip-off the season with practice beginning in October and the season-opener set for Nov. 8 against Jacksonville at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee.

The editors of the publication characterized White as "precisely the sort of player head coach Leonard Hamilton has relied upon to build the Seminoles' program: rangy, athletic, and willing to defend and block shots, all while steadily improving his polish. His ability to punish opponents inside and occasionally on the perimeter ensures that he'll be a centerpiece as a senior."

Says Hamilton: "Okaro is really an integral part of what we've been able to accomplish since his freshman season. It's his season to provide a little more vocal leadership as well as his leadership on and off the court. He's been very solid."

White enters his final season in Tallahassee well within reach of numerous milestones. In addition to looking to lead the Seminoles to their third NCAA Tournament appearance during his career, White enters his season only 88 points shy of 1,000 for his career, ranked sixth in school history with a career free throw shooting percentage of .799 and ranked 21st in school with 67 career blocked shots.

With the addition of Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the ACC for the upcoming season, the Seminoles will play in the toughest league in the history of college basketball. The Seminoles will play at least nine teams who played in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, may play two of the four 2013 Final Four participants and could play as many as 20 of its 30 regular season games against teams who played in a national postseason tournament a year ago.

Season tickets are on sale now for the 2013-14 season. Fans can visit Seminoles.com or call the ticket office at 888-FSU-NOLE to order tickets.
