TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - The 2012 ACC Champion Florida State men's basketball team, which has played in a school record four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, is one of four host schools for the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. The Seminoles will play two games at home before traveling to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. for the semifinals and championship games of the event scheduled for Nov. 16-17.

Florida State will serve as a host school along with Brigham Young, Notre Dame and Saint Joseph's - who will all advance to play in the semifinals and championship rounds of the tournament at the Barclays Center. The Coaches vs. Cancer tournament will be only the second college basketball event that will be played in the arena which is scheduled to officially open on Sept. 28 with the first of multiple Jay-Z concerts. The first college basketball game in the arena will match Kentucky and Maryland on Nov. 9. The arena will serve as the home of the New York/New Jersey Nets of the NBA and the New York Islanders of the NHL.

The semifinal matchups will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, and will be televised live on truTV. The finals will take place the following day, Saturday, Nov. 17, beginning with the Consolation Game, followed by the Championship Game. Both of Saturday's games will also be televised on truTV.

The complete bracket, including matchups and game times for the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, will be announced at a later date. Tickets for the Championship Round games at Barclays Center will are currently on sale and may be purchased by visiting www.cvcclassic.com or www.barclayscenter.com.

"Just as we have worked to develop our program, this tournament has developed into one of the most prestigious events in all of college basketball," said Florida State Head Coach Leonard Hamilton, who was recently named the ACC Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. "The Coaches vs. Cancer tournament is an event that is important to us because cancer has unfortunately touched all of our lives and this is just a small way in which we, as college basketball coaches, can contribute to finding a cure."

Florida State won the 2012 ACC championship for the first time in school history and finished the season with a 25-10 record. The Seminoles finished in third place in the ACC standings with a 12-4 record as they tied the school record for ACC wins in a season and defeated Miami, No. 6 Duke and No. 4 North Carolina on their way to winning the ACC Tournament title. The Seminoles defeated both Duke and North Carolina twice and beat each of the four ACC teams from the state of North Carolina (Duke, North Carolina, NC State and Wake Forest) for the first time in school history in 2012.

Season tickets for Florida State's 2012-13 season go on sale April 1. Fans can renew their season ticket or become a season ticket holder by placing a ten percent deposit. Fans can also opt into the Seminoles' monthly payment plan in order to spread the cost of the full season ticket over several months. Those who purchase or renew their tickets during the month of April will receive a commemorative ACC Championship program and a personalized ACC Championship game ticket. This is a unique opportunity for Seminole fans to renew early for the upcoming season and also receive a special piece of Florida State history.
