TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which has won at least 18 games in eight consecutive seasons, makes its school-record eighth consecutive postseason appearance as it plays host to Louisiana Tech of the Western Athletic Conference in the first round of the 2013 NIT on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. The Seminoles' appearance in the 2013 NIT marks it eighth appearance in the NIT with its most recent game coming in 2008 against Akron. Since last appearing in the NIT in 2008, the Seminoles have played in a school record four consecutive NCAA Tournaments and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles have won at least one game in six of their first seven NIT appearances including 2007 when they advanced to the quarterfinals of the event with wins over Toledo and Michigan. The winner of Tuesday's game between Florida State and Louisiana Tech will play the winner of Wednesday's game between Southern Miss and Charleston Southern on a date and at a location to be announced at the conclusion of the first round of play.

FLORIDA STATE / LOUISIANA TECH - ONE COMMON OPPONENT
Florida State and Louisiana Tech have one common opponent this season - both the Seminoles and the Bulldogs both played Louisiana Monroe. The Seminoles defeated Louisiana Monroe, 63-48, on December 17, 2012 and the Bulldogs defeated the Warhawks, 68-52, on November 24, 2012.

SNAER EARNS ALL-ACC THIRD TEAM HONORS
Senior Michael Snaer was named to the All-ACC Third Team in 2013 by a vote of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association - marking the second consecutive season he has earned All-ACC honors. Snaer was an All-ACC Second Team selection in 2012 and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2010. He enters the 2013 NIT averaging a career-high 14.5 points scored per game, ranked sixth in the ACC in free throw percentage, 10th in 3-point field goals made per game and 10th in the ACC in scoring,

FLORIDA STATE ENTERS 2013 NIT AS LEAGUE LEADERS IN TWO CATEGORIES
Florida State enters the 2013 NIT as the ACC leaders in both free throw shooting percentage and blocked shots. The Seminoles are looking to lead the ACC in blocked shots for the fourth consecutive season and in free throw shooting for the third time in the last seven seasons.

SEMINOLES HAVE WON THREE OF THEIR LAST FOUR ENTERING THE NIT
Florida State enters the 2013 NIT having won three of its last four games with wins coming against NCAA Tournament participant NC State (March 9, 71-67), NIT participant Virginia (March 7, 53-51) and Clemson. The Seminoles won four of their final six ACC games of the season - three regular season ACC wins over Wake Forest, Virginia and NC State - and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament with a win over Clemson (March 14, 73-69). The Seminoles are the only ACC team to play in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament in each of the last seven seasons.

SEMINOLES CONTINUE TO WIN THE CLOSE ONES
Florida State defeated Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament, 73-69 (+4), to win its ACC leading ninth game of the season by five points or less. The Seminoles are an ACC-leading 16-2 (.889 winning percentage) in the last two seasons when winning by five points or less. Florida State earned eight of their nine ACC wins during the regular season by five points or less - with its only win by more than five points coming against Wake Forest (76-62, +14) on February 26 in Tallahassee.

SEMINOLES RALLY FROM HALFTIME DEFICIT - AGAIN
Florida State rallied from a five point halftime deficit (30-35, -5) to win for the sixth time this season when it trailed at halftime in defeating Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament on March 14. Included in those six wins are come-from-behind victories over Maryland (January 9, down 36-27 at halftime, won 65-62), against Clemson (January 24, down 29-21 at halftime, won 60-57 on a buzzer beating 3-point shot by Michael Snaer), at Georgia Tech (February 5, down 27-26 at halftime, won 56-54 on a buzzer beating lay-up by Snaer), against NC State (March 9, down 35-34 at halftime, won 71-67) and against Clemson in the ACC Tournament (down 30-35 at halftime, won 73-69 on four late game free throws by Michael Snaer. The Seminoles also defeated Charlotte (down 40-35 at halftime, won 79-76 at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on December 22).

FLORIDA STATE FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Florida State enters the 2013 NIT as the ACC leader in free throw shooting percentage with a .732 mark. The Seminoles have shot .700 percent or better from the free throw line in six consecutive and in nine of its last 10 games since February 13 against Miami.

FLORIDA STATE FROM THE FREE THROW LINE -- II
Florida State won its sixth game of the season when it has made 20 or more free throws in a single game as it made 24 free throws in its win over Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament on March 14. The Seminoles were also victorious for the fourth time in five games this season when it attempted 30 or more free throws in a single game in their win over the Tigers.

SEMINOLES WHEN SCORING 71 POINTS
Florida State enters the 2013 NIT with four consecutive wins and 12 wins in their last 14 games when it has scored 71 points including recent wins over Wake Forest (January 26), NC State (March 9) and Clemson (March 14 in the ACC Tournament).
