GREENSBORO, N.C. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, the third winningest program in the ACC since the start of the 2005-06 season, begins play in the 61st Annual Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament against Maryland in the second round of the event on March 13, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. The Seminoles, who finished the regular season with an 18-12 overall record and a 9-9 record in ACC play finished in a tie for seventh place in the league standings and will play as the ninth seed in the tournament. The Terps finished the regular season with a 17-14 overall record and an identical 9-9 record and will play as the eighth seed in the tournament. The winner of Thursday's game matching Florida State and Maryland will play Virginia - the No. 1 seed.

FLORIDA STATE WON THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2012
Florida State won its first ever ACC Championship in 2012 at Philips Arena in Atlanta. The Seminoles defeated Miami (March 9, 82-71), No. 6 Duke (March 10, 62-59) and No. 4 North Carolina (March 11, 85-82) on three successive days to capture the championship for the first time in school history.

SEMINOLES' THOMAS NAMED ALL-ACC HONORABLE MENTION
Sophomore Aaron Thomas, who enters the ACC Tournament averaging a team-leading 14.1 points scored per game, earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors as voted on by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. It marks the ninth consecutive season and 11th time in the 12 seasons under head coach Leonard Hamilton that the Seminoles have had at least one player earn All-ACC Honors. Thomas enters the 2014 ACC Tournament ranked 13th in the ACC in scoring and seventh in steals.

MILLER NAMED SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR IN VOTE BY THE LEAGUES HEAD COACHES
Senior Ian Miller, who is Florida State's second leading scorer despite starting only five games, was named the ACC's Sixth Man of the Year in a vote by the league's 15 head coaches. Miller came off the Seminoles' bench in the first 23 games of the season before being inserted in to the starting line-up and ranks 15th in scoring, third in the ACC in both free throw and 3-point field goal percentages and is tied for ninth in 3-point field goals made with an 2.0 3FGM/Game average.

WHITE NAMED TO ALL-ACC DEFENSIVE TEAM BY ACC COACHES
Senior Okaro White, who is averaging 1.0 blocked shots and 0.7 steals as a senior, was named to the All-ACC Defensive team by the 15 ACC coaches. White has 18 blocked shots in 18 ACC games and enters the 2014 ACC Tournament with 98 career blocked shots - he is two blocked shots from becoming only the 13th player I school history with 100 or more career blocked shots. White is the anchor of Florida State's defensive effort which has been ranked among the best in the ACC and nation throughout the season. The Seminoles are ranked second in the ACC in field goal percentage defense, second in blocked shots and sixth in steals and scoring defense.

HAMILTON IS FLORIDA STATE'S WINNINGEST ACC COACH
Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton, who will coach the Seminoles in his 12th ACC Tournament this week in Greensboro, is Florida State's winningest coach in ACC play and in ACC Tournament play. Hamilton has 91 career ACC wins and has nine wins in ACC Tournament play. Florida State's previous coaches won 70 ACC games in the Seminoles' first 11 seasons in the ACC and four ACC Tournament games in the first 11 ACC Tournaments the Seminoles played in. Hamilton enters the ACC Tournament as the 11th all-time winningest coach in ACC games in conference history and has led Florida State to 193 wins in the last nine seasons - an average of 21.4 wins per season.

The Seminoles topped Maryland, 85-61, on January 12. It would mark the second consecutive season Florida State has defeated Maryland twice.

Florida State, which made an ACC record 16 3-point shots in its 85-61 victory over Maryland on January 12 in Tallahassee, enters the 2014 ACC Tournament ranked second in the ACC with a .372 3-point field goal percentage. The Seminoles lead the ACC in conference games only with a .398 shooting mark from long range. The Seminoles made more 3-point field goals (105 / 5.8 per game) in their 18 conference games than they did in their first 12 non-conference games of the season (53 / 4.4 per game). The Seminoles shot .398 from the 3-point line in the ACC and .329 in non-conference play. The Seminoles made an average of nearly two 3-point field goals more per game (5.8-4.4) and shot nearly seven percentage points higher in ACC play than in non-conference play.

FLORIDA STATE ESTABLISHES SCHOOL RECORD FOR 3-POINT SHOTS MADE IN AN ACC GAME
Led by Ian Miller's career-best six 3-point field goals made, the Seminoles made a school record for ACC games 16 3-point shots in its 85-61 win over Maryland on January 12, 2014 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles were 10 of 15 (.667) from long range in the first half and six of nine in the second half (.667). The Seminoles' 16 3-point shots made against Maryland ranks as the third highest single game total in school history and are the most made in a game by an ACC team this season.

MILLER AND THOMAS SHOOT THEMSELVES INTO SEMINOLE RECORD BOOK
Senior Ian Miller's six 3-point shots made in the Seminoles' victory over Maryland on January 12 and Aaron Thomas's six 3-point field goals made against Virginia Tech on February 5 are both tied for the sixth highest total in a single ACC game in Florida State history.

SEMINOLES SOLIDIFY ACC FIELD GOAL SHOOTING PERCENTAGE LEAD
Florida State, which has shot 50 percent or better in 13 of its 30 games this season, enters the 2014 ACC Tournament as the leaders in field goal shooting percentage in the ACC. The Seminoles are shooting .465 from the field and are looking to lead the ACC in field goal shooting percentage for the first time since joining the league for the 1991-92 season. The Seminoles have shot 50 percent or better from the field 13 times and are 10-3 when making at least half of their shots in a game. Florida State shot an incredible .765 from the field and outscored Boston College 41-37 in the second half of its victory over the Eagles. The Seminoles made 13 of 17 shots in that second half against Boston College - they made eight of their final 10 field goal attempts of the game.

SEMINOLES SHOOTING WELL FROM THE 3-POINT LINE
With its' season-high .667 (16 of 24) shooting mark in its 85-61 win over Maryland on January 12, the Seminoles enter the 2014 ACC Tournament ranked first in the ACC (in conference games only) with a .398 3-point shooting mark. Florida State has been especially successful from long range in its last nine games with a .395 mark since February 5.
