TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State will face Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. The sixth seeded Seminoles, who win their final two league games to finish with a 9-9 mark in ACC play will face the 11th-seeded Tigers for the third time this season.

The Seminoles defeated the Tigers twice during the regular season with wins coming at Clemson (January 5, 71-66) in Tallahassee (January 24, 60-57) as Florida State won three of its first five ACC games of the season. The Seminoles led by as many as 16 points in its win to begin its ACC season on January 5 and then got a buzzer-beating, game winning 3-point shot from Michael Snaer to gain the win in Tallahassee. With a win over Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament, the Seminoles would face No. 3 seeded North Carolina on Friday, March 15 at 9:30 in the quarterfinals of the tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Florida State arrives in Greensboro as the reigning ACC Champion after winning its first ever ACC Championship in 2012 at Philips Arena in Atlanta. The Seminoles defeated Miami (March 9, 82-71), No. 6 Duke (March 10, 62-59) and No. 4 North Carolina (March 11, 85-82) on three successive days to capture the championship for the first time in school history.

Senior Michael Snaer was named to the All-ACC Third team in 2013 by a vote of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association - marking the second consecutive season he has earned All-ACC honors. Snaer was an All-ACC Second team selection in 2012 and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2010. He enters the 2013 ACC Tournament averaging a career-high 14.5 points sored per game, ranked fourth in the ACC in free throw percentage, ninth in 3-point field goals made per game and 10th in the ACC in scoring,

Snaer is now one of only eight players in the ACC who has earned All-ACC honors in both of the last two seasons. He was an All-ACC Second Team selection in 2012 and was an All-ACC Third Team selection as a senior in 2013. He is the fifth player under head coach Leonard Hamilton to earn All-ACC honors twice during his career and the 10th player in school history to earn All-ACC honors multiple times during his career at Florida State.
