TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - ACC All-Freshman team candidate Solomon Alabi, who averaged 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots in two games last week including a victory over No. 12 Clemson, was named the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league office. Alabi has now earned the honor twice this season and is only the fourth Seminole to earn the honor multiple times during his freshman season.

Alabi scored five points, pulled down two rebounds and blocked two shots in the Seminoles' victory over No. 12 Clemson. His two biggest plays of the game - blocked shots - both game in the final 2:25 of the win. He blocked a lay-up attempt by Demontez Stitt at the 2:35 mark that would have cut the Tigers deficit to 65-62 and turned away a Tanner Smith lay-up at the 1:12 mark that would have cut the Seminoles' lead to 67-62.

Alabi scored 16 points, pulled down seven rebounds and blocked four shots as the Seminoles traveled to play at Boston College. He made four field goals and was a perfect eight of eight from the free throw line as the Seminoles came within five points of winning their first ever game in Chestnut Hill.

Alabi scored nine second half points (he was a perfect seven of seven from the free throw line) as Florida State closed the scoring gap to as little as one late in the game. He added three blocked shots in the second half and has now blocked at least one shot in each of this first 14 ACC games of his career.

Alabi has 73 blocked shots in the first 39 games of his career entering Tuesday's game against Duke. His 73 blocked shots has him ranked 14th in school history for a career despite having played is less than 40 career games.
