TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which defeated Clemson to gain its first ACC victory of the season on January 9, plays host to the Tigers in the second meeting of the season between the two teams on February 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The Seminoles enter Saturday's game against Clemson having won eight of their last 12 since a 77-53 win over Jacksonville State on December in Tallahassee and have a 7-1 record at home with consecutive ACC wins coming against Maryland (January 12, 85-61) and Notre Dame (January 21, 76-74). The Seminoles have played five of their first eight ACC games away from Tallahassee and, starting with Clemson, will play four of their next six ACC games at home. Florida State's game against Clemson is its first of a two-game home stand as it plays host to Virginia Tech on Wednesday night at 9:00.

FLORIDA STATE BY THE NUMBERS AGAINST CLEMSON ON JANUARY 9
The Seminoles held the Tigers more than 23 points below their season scoring average in their 56-41 win at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson. The 41 points allowed by Florida State is the fewest ever allowed in a Seminole ACC game.

FLORIDA STATE - SERIES NOTES AGAINST CLEMSON
Florida State enters Saturday's game against Clemson with five consecutive wins in the series - the Seminoles have won each game in the series since a Senior Day win over the Tigers on March 4, 2012 in Tallahassee. Neither team has won more than five consecutive games (Florida State twice -- currently and in 1994 through 1996) in the series that dates back to the 1951-52 season. Florida State's longest winning streak against any team in the ACC since joining the league for the 1991-92 season is its current eight-game winning streak against Georgia Tech.

SEMINOLES IN THE ACC STATISTICS
Florida State is well represented in the individual ACC statistics. Senior Ian Miller, the ACC's leading scorer who has yet to start a single game this season, is ranked 10th in scoring with a career-high 133 points per game scoring average and is ranked second in free throw shooting percentage (.866). Okaro White, the most versatile player in the ACC who rotates between the three and the four spots in the Seminoles' frontcourt rotation, is ranked 11th in the ACC in rebounding with a career-high 6.9 rebounds per game average. Aaron Thomas, one of the top defenders in the ACC, is ranked fourth in the ACC in steals (a career-high 1.65 steals per game) and eight in free throw shooting percentage (career-high .819). Sophomore Boris Bojanovsky, one of the most rapidly developing players in all of college basketball, is in a tie for third place in the ACC statistics in blocked shots (a career-high 2.0 bpg).

SEMINOLES NATIONALLY AMONG TOP DEFENSIVE TEAMS
Florida State, which has held 14 of its 19 opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field, enters Saturday's game against Clemson as the ACC leader and ranked Xth in the nation with a .377 field goal percentage defense mark. Florida State is ranked as one of the nation's top five teams for total defense as they are ranked among the nation's top teams for field goal percentage defense (7th), blocked shots (14th) and scoring defense (46th). Florida State led the nation in field goal percentage defense in both 2010 and 2011 under Leonard Hamilton.

...Defeat Clemson and win its sixth consecutive game against the Tigers. The Seminoles have won a series-record tying five consecutive games against the Tigers and have won three consecutive home games against Clemson; ...Defeat Clemson and win the regular season series against the Tigers for the second consecutive season. The Seminoles won in Clemson (January 5, 2013, 74-66) and in Tallahassee (Jan. 24, 2013, 60-57) during the regular season last year. Since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season, the Seminoles have swept the regular season series against the Tigers six times (1994, 1995, 2001, 2009, 2012 and 2013).

SEMINOLES CONTINUE TO SHOOT WELL FROM THE BONUSPHERE
Florida State, which ranks third in the ACC in 3-point field goal percentage, continues to utilize the 3-point shot as a weapon. Historically a good 3-point shooting team under head coach Leonard Hamilton, the Seminoles are averaging 7.7 made 3-point field goals per game in their last six games and have made at least six shots from long range in five of their last six games. Ironically, the Seminoles' streak from long range began after they defeated Clemson in the first meeting between the two teams. Florida State was 1 of 11 (9.1 percent) in its 56-41 win over the Tigers on January 9 - tied for the fewest 3-point shots made in a single game all season.

FLORIDA STATE LEADS ACC IN BLOCKED SHOTS IN CONFERENCE PLAY
Florida State, which blocked five shots in its victory over Clemson (three in the second half) enter Saturday's game against Clemson ranked second in the ACC in blocked shots (just behind Clemson) with a 6.20 blocked shots per game average. The Seminoles have blocked five shots more than Clemson and are averaging 6.26 blocked shots per game but has played one fewer game than the Seminoles. The Seminoles are 9-4 overall (and have two wins in ACC play) when they block at least five shots in a game this season. Florida State is looking to lead the ACC in blocked shots for the ACC tying fifth consecutive season.
