TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which has won eight of its last 11 games since December 8, travels to play NC State at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. on Wednesday, January 29 at 9:00 p.m. in the only regular season meeting between the Seminoles and the Wolfpack. Florida State enters Wednesday's game against NC State having won four of the last five overall and four of the last five in Raleigh. The Seminoles are 2-2 in ACC road games this season with wins at both Clemson and Miami. Since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season the Seminoles have nine wins on the road against NC State - the highest total of ACC road wins against one team. Following Wednesday's game at NC State, the Seminoles will play their only two-game ACC homestand of the season as they play host to Clemson (February 1, 3:00 p.m.) and Virginia Tech (February 5, 9:00 p.m.) before venturing back out on the road for its second game of the regular season against Maryland (February 8, 3:00 p.m.).

Freshman Devon Bookert scored a career-high 18 points, Michael Snaer added 17 and Florida State fought back from an eight-point deficit in the second half to beat North Carolina State 71-67 on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

SEMINOLES LEAD THE ACC IN TWO CATEGORIES
Florida State enters Wednesday's game against NC State as the ACC leaders in field goal percentage defense (.372) and tie for first in blocked shots (6.3 bpg). The Seminoles held Duke .305 shooting from the field (the Blue Devils' lowest shooting mark of the season) and have blocked at least five shots in 13 of their 19 games this season. Florida State has led the ACC in four of the last five seasons in FG% defense (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) and have led the ACC in blocked shots in each of the last four seasons (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013) and are looking to become only the second team in ACC history to lead the conference in blocked shots in five consecutive seasons. Maryland led the league in blocked shots in each of the five seasons from 2000-2004.

FLORIDA STATE IS THE TOP DEFENSIVE TEAM IN THE ACC
Florida State is the only team in the ACC that is averaging at least six steals (6.6 spg) and at least six blocked shots per game (6.3 bpg). The Seminoles are also one of only two teams (North Carolina) in the ACC ranked in the top five of both the steals and blocked shots categories. As the leaders in the field goal percentage defense category, the Seminoles are one of only five teams in the ACC that is holding its opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field and are one of only two teams (Clemson) ranked in the top six of both the field goal percentage defense categories (first, .372) and 3-point field goal defensive categories (sixth, .318).

SEMINOLES NATIONALLY AMONG TOP DEFENSIVE TEAMS
Florida State, which has held 14 of its 18 opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field, enters Wednesday's game at NC State ranked fifth in the nation with a .372 field goal percentage defense mark. Florida State is ranked as one of the nation's top five teams for total defense as they are ranked among the nation's top teams for field goal percentage defense (5th), blocked shots (15th) and scoring defense (42nd). Florida State led the nation in field goal percentage defense in both 2010 and 2011 under Leonard Hamilton.

SEMINOLES UP TO SECOND IN ACC IN FIELD GOAL SHOOTING PERCENTAGE
Florida State has shot better than 50 percent in each of its last two games (.543/51 of 94) and rank second in the ACC in field goal percentage shooting with a .480 mark. The Seminoles last shot 48 percent or better from the field during the 2006-07 season as it shot .481 from the field.

The Seminole earned their fifth ACC win of the season on February 5, 2013 at Georgia Tech.

SEMINOLES SHOOTING THE BALL WELL FROM THE FIELD
Florida State enters Wednesday's game against NC State ranked second in the ACC and 30th nationally with a .480 field goal shooting percentage. The Seminoles have shot 50 percent or better from the field in 10 of their 19 games including a season high .587 in its win over UT Martin on November 17. Florida State has shot 50 percent or better in three of its seven ACC games (.500 in win over Maryland, .580 in win over Notre Dame and .500 against Duke) and is ranked second in the conference in ACC games only with a .467 field goal shooting percentage.

FLORIDA STATE AMONG ACC'S BEST 3-POINT SHOOTING TEAMS
In its first seven ACC games of the season, the Seminoles are the best 3-point shooting team in the ACC with a .336 shooting mark from long range. The Seminoles lead the ACC in conference games only despite a 1-11 3-point shooting performance (.091) in its ACC road opener against Clemson on January 9. The Seminoles are shooting .506 from the bonusphere in their last five games and have shot 50 percent or better twice (in wins over Maryland and Notre Dame) and 40 percent or better in three of their last five games. Florida State ranked eighth in the ACC with a .343 shooting percentage in its 14 non-conference games and has moved up six spots in the statistics since ACC play began. The Seminoles enter Wednesday's game against NC State shooting .369 from long range on the season.
