Florida State Game Notes Get Acrobat Reader

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which overcame as much as a 13-point deficit to defeat Clemson 60-57 on Thursday night in Tallahassee, travels to Coral Gables to face No. 25 ranked Miami on Sunday, January 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the BankUnited Center. The game will be televised nationally as part of ESPNU's wildly successful ACC Sunday night basketball package. The Seminoles' game against Miami marks their third game of the season against a ranked team and the next opportunity to gain their first win over a team ranked in either the top 25 of the Associated Press or USA Today's Coaches' Polls. The Seminoles were the winningest team in the ACC with six wins against nationally ranked opponents and have defeated 10 nationally ranked in the last three seasons. Following Sunday night's game against Miami, the Seminoles will play host to Maryland (January 30 at 8:00 p.m.) and No. 1 ranked Duke (February 2 at 2:00 p.m.) in the first of a pair of two-game ACC homestands during the remainder of the season.

FLORIDA STATE AMONG ACC'S WINNINGEST TEAMS
With 167 overall wins and 69 ACC wins, Florida State is the third winningest team in the ACC since the start of the 2005-06 season. The Seminoles average 22.3 overall wins and 9.4 ACC wins per season under 11th year head coach Leonard Hamilton since the start of the 2005-06 season.

FLORIDA STATE IN ACC PLAY
The Seminoles have won 17 of their last 24 regular season ACC games (.708 winning percentage) after finishing with a school record 12-4 conference record and in third place in the ACC standings during the 2012-13 season. The Seminoles also won two of their final three regular season games of the 2011-12 season and are the third winningest team in the ACC since the start of the 2005-06 season.

FLORIDA STATE ON THE ROAD IN ACC PLAY
Florida State enters Sunday's game at Miami with a 3-2 record in ACC play with two of its three wins coming on the road (at Clemson on January 5 and at Maryland on January 9). The Seminoles' two road wins allowed them to begin their ACC schedule with a 2-0 record for only the second time since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season. The Seminoles also opened the 1999-00 ACC season with a 2-0 record. The Seminoles are the third winningest road team in the ACC since the start of the 2009-10 season.

SNAER BEING SNAER - ANOTHER 3-POINT BUZZER BEATING, GAME-WINNING SHOT
All-American Michael Snaer capped off Florida State's incredible come-from-behind win over Clemson on Thursday night with the third buzzer beating 3-point shot of his career. He has hit two of his three shots at the buzzer (in wins over Duke in 2012 and against Clemson in 2013) and made his game-winning shot against Virginia Tech (in 2012) with 2.4 second remaining on the clock. In all three game-winning instances, Snaer helped the Seminoles recover from deficits of nine against Duke in Cameron Indoor Stadium, 13 against Clemson on Thursday night in Tallahassee and 15 against Virginia Tech at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

WHITE REACHES INTO DOUBLE FIGURES SCORING AGAIN
Junior forward Okaro White scored 10 points in Florida State's win over Clemson on Thursday night and has now scored in double figures in a career high 14 games this season. He tied his career high with 20 points (including 15 consecutive in the second half of the Seminoles' 65-62 win on the road at Maryland on January 9) and enters Sunday's game against Miami averaging a career-high 12.9 points scored per game.

LOOK FOR FLORIDA STATE TO...
...Defeat Miami and gain a win over a ranked opponent for the first time this season. The Seminoles have defeated at least one ranked team in 22 consecutive years - ever season since the 1982-83 season; ...Defeat Miami and gain a win over a ranked Miami team for the first time in school history - it marks the first time the Seminoles will play Miami when the Hurricanes are nationally ranked; ...Defeat Miami and gain a win over a ranked team on its home court for the third time in the last two seasons. The Seminoles won at Duke (76-73 on January 21, 2012) and at Virginia (63-60 on March 1, 2012) last season.

FLORIDA STATE VS. RANKED TEAMS
Florida State enters Sunday's game against No. 25 Miami with 27 wins over nationally ranked teams during the first 11 years of the Leonard Hamilton era in Tallahassee. Included in those wins are five wins over nationally ranked Duke teams including two when the Blue Devils were ranked No. 1 in the country at the time (March 1, 2006, 79-74 and Jan. 12, 2011, 66-61). Florida State has defeated four top five and five top 10 ranked Duke teams under Hamilton with three of the Seminoles' four all-time victories over the nation's No. 1 ranked team coming against Duke.

FLORIDA STATE MOVES BACK INTO ACC FREE THROW SHOOTING LEAD
Buoyed by its .900 percent shooting performance (18 of 20 and 14 of 16 in the second half) from the free throw line in its victory over Clemson, the Seminoles enter Sunday's game against Miami as the ACC's top ranked free throw shooting team and as one of only three teams in the league that is shooting 71 percent or better from the free throw line for the season. The Seminoles were six of eight from the free throw line in the final 6:31 of the game as they outscored the Tigers, 18-13, to win the game.

FLORIDA STATE IN ITS OWN ACC RECORD BOOK
Florida State shot a shining .900 (18 of 20) from the free throw line in its win over Clemson to mark the 12th time in its ACC history that it has shot 90 percent or better from the free throw line in a single game. It marked just the second time in its 22-year ACC history that Florida State shot 90 percent or better from the free throw line on 20 or more attempts. The Seminoles shot .950 percent from the line (19 of 20) in an 81-65 win over Georgia Tech on Feb. 3, 2004.
