TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Toney Douglas scored 30 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Florida State past Coastal Carolina 82-70 on Saturday.
Douglas, who scored 20 points in the first half, was 9 of 15 from the field and 6 of 9 from 3-point range.
Florida State (4-0) had its best outside shooting performance of the season, connecting on 11 of 23 shots from long range (47.8 percent) after shooting just 30 percent during its first three games.
Coastal Carolina (0-3) claimed a 15-point lead midway through the first half, but the Seminoles' full-court defensive pressure forced the Chanticleers into 22 turnovers.
Florida State recorded nine steals in the first half and 15 for the game. Douglas and Chris Singleton had four steals apiece. Singleton also had 17 points.
Reserve Mario Edwards lead Coastal Carolina with 18 points.
