ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Florida State men's basketball team moved to 2-0 in this young season with an 80-68 victory Wednesday night at UCF.

Senior guard Ian Miller posted a game-high 18 points in the victorious effort, hitting all seven of his free-throw attempts while adding three rebounds and two steals.

Miller was one of four players to score in double figures for a 'Noles team that combatted 18 turnovers by shooting 50 percent from the field. Devon Bookert poured in 17 points, Okaro White had 13 and Robert Gilchrist scored 10 while playing a team-high 32 minutes in the post.

Wing players Aaron Thomas and Montay Brandon scored nine and seven, respectively, while Bookert dished out five assists from his point guard spot.

"We have so many players that can score at any time," Bookert said. "We have a lot of weapons to utilize offensively and that helped us tonight."

Brandon led the Seminoles with nine rebounds with Michael Ojo and Gilchrist combining for six boards apiece.

Calvin Newell and Kasey Wilson scored 15 each for the Knights (1-1) and star Isaiah Sykes was limited to just 5-of-15 shooting for 13 points.

FSU's defense looked like a typical Leonard Hamilton squad, forcing 20 UCF turnovers and holding the home team to 29.7-percent shooting from the field. The `Noles had 10 blocks.

Florida State next returns home to the Donald L. Tucker Center for a Sunday showdown with Tennessee-Martin at 2 p.m. FSU will wear special turquoise uniforms in that contest to honor the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Native American Heritage Month.

"Two games in and we are going to keep working," Bookert said. "We know leading into the next game, we have to work on boxing out better and preventing second-chance points."
