CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The Florida State men's basketball couldn't get past streaking No. 25 Miami Sunday night as 'Noles fell to the 'Canes 71-47.

Three nights after beating Clemson at home, FSU (11-8, 3-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) traveled to the BankUnited Center before running into a Miami squad that is one of the hottest in the nation. The ACC-leading Hurricanes are now15-3 overall and 6-0 in the league as winners of seven straight.

For the Seminoles, Sunday's setback had as much to with FSU's own shooting struggles as it did with Miami's continued strong play. The visitors finished the rivalry game with a 33.3-percent shooting mark from the field and a 16.7-percent mark from 3-point range, including an 0-for-9 cold spell in the second half.

Junior Ian Miller, who continues to battle with a sore foot, led FSU with a team-high 12 points and was the only player in a garnet uniform to score in double figures. Okaro White, who fouled out of the game with six minutes remaining in the second half, finished with six points and so, too, did Aaron Thomas.

Terry Whisnant II and Boris Bojanovsky added five points apiece. Montay Brandon led the way with five rebounds.

Trey McKinney Jones' 15 points led a Miami team that shot 45.8 percent from the field and 64.3 percent from 3-point range. The 'Canes had 26 rebounds to FSU's 23.

Both teams finished with seven turnovers each.

FSU now returns home for a two-game home stand starting Wednesday at 8 p.m. against Maryland followed Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest against Duke.
