AS A FRESHMAN (2009): Averaged 8.1 points (fifth on the team), 4.9 rebounds (third), 1.5 steals (second) and 1.3 blocked shots (second) as he averaged 26.9 minutes played per game (second) in earning Freshman All-America Honorable Mention and All-ACC Freshman Team Honorable Mention honors as he helped lead the Seminoles to the NCAA Tournament and to the first appearance in the ACC Tournament championship game in school history...ranked second on the team with 34 3-point field goals made and was second on the team with 65 offensive rebounds...one of only four Seminoles to play in all 35 games and one of only two who started at least 34 games...ranked 10th in the ACC among all players with 54 steals and a 1.5 steals per game average and was second in the league among freshman with only Georgia Tech's Iman Shumpert (64 steals / 2.1 spg) finishing ahead of Singleton among all conference freshman...ranked ninth among all players in the ACC with 47 blocked shots and a 1.3 blocked shots per game average...he was the ACC's fourth leading blocked shot artist among all league freshmen...also ranked fifth in the ACC among all freshmen with his 8.1 points per game scoring average, remaining and a free throw with 3:10 left in the contest cut the Seminoles' deficit to 66-63...the Eagles held on to win the game, 72-67, in Chestnut Hill (Feb. 24)...(vs. Clemson): averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in two games against NCAA Tournament participant Clemson...tied for the team high with six assists and six steals in the two-game regular season series sweep over the Tigers...scored five points, pulled down six rebounds and earned a game-high tying four steals in the Seminoles' momentum-building 65-61 victory over Clemson on the road in Clemson (Feb. 7)...helped the Seminoles recover from as much as a 19-point second half deficit to steal the important win on the road...Florida State rallied from a 14-point deficit with 11:57 left in the game to stun the No. 10 ranked Tigers and the partisan crowd at Littlejohn Coliseum...all five of his points scored during the game came in the second half...a 3-point shot at the 11:38 mark began the Seminoles' comeback in earnest as he made the score 48-37...beginning with his 3-point shot at the 11:38 mark, the Seminoles outscored Clemson 29-13 to gain the four point victory...a Singleton dunk closed the gap to four at 59-55 with 3:12 left before the buzzer...during the final 11:38 of the game he was responsible for five points and a steal that led directly to a lay-up for Jordan DeMercy...grabbed the final rebound of the game with 10 seconds left to seal the game for Florida State...the win improved Florida State's record to 18-5 and 5-3 in the ACC...totaled 10 points, two playing time because of foul trouble...all 10 of his points came in the second half as Florida State held the lead for virtually the entire game...biggest of his 10 second half points came on a lay-up to push Florida State's lead back out to seven points with 1:45 left in the game soon after Clemson had closed to within three points with 3:30 remaining in the game...a free throw shot with 41 seconds left in the game gave the Seminoles a commanding 10-point lead and sealed their win over the ranked Tigers...(vs. Duke): averaged 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games against NCAA Tournament participant and ACC Tournament champion Duke...shot .500 from the field (11 of 22) to go along with four blocked shots and three steals against the Blue Devils...scored six points and added three rebounds as the Seminoles played host to the Blue Devils in Tallahassee (Jan. 10)...scored four of the Seminoles' 14 total points in the first half as Florida State trailed the Blue Devils, 19-14 at halftime...he was one of only three Seminoles to score points along with Toney Douglas (six points) and Solomon Alabi (four points) as Florida State played one of its top defensive halves of the season...the Seminoles held the Blue Devils to 25 percent shooting from the field in the first half and to .429 shooting for the game...a second-half tip-in cut the Blue Devils' lead to 11 as the Seminoles worked to whittle away at as much as a 25 point deficit to fall by only eight points...scored eight points to go along with four rebounds and one steal as the Seminoles traveled to play at contested match-up...scored three points (on a jumper and a free throw) in a 26 second span to give Florida State a 57-55 lead with 10:27 left in the game...another lay-up at the 9:44 mark vaulted the Seminoles into the lead again by a score a 59-58...earned a steal with 13 seconds left in the game and the Seminoles trailing by five...the ensuing shot by Deividas Dulkys was just off the mark and free throws by Gerald Henderson secured the three-point win at home for the Blue Devils...best performance of his first post-season with 15 points and a game-high nine rebounds as the Seminoles played No. 7 ranked Duke in the championship game of the ACC Tournament at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta (March 15)...scored his 15 points as he tied for game high honors with four made 3-point field goals...also blocked a game-high three shots as the Seminoles set a high bar by playing the ACC Tournament championship game for the first time in school history...scored 11 second half points as the Seminoles outscored the Blue Devils 48-44 in the second half to lose by 10, 79-69...was instrumental in Florida State's comeback with a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to eight (42-34) with 13:39 remaining and a tip-in at the 11:20 mark to cut the deficit to seven (45-38)...seven was as close as Florida State could get in falling in its first ever ACC Championship game...(vs. Georgia Tech): averaged 3.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games against Georgia Tech...a team leading six blocked shots (3.0 blocks per game) in the two games against the Yellow Jackets including the Seminoles' victory in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals...scored five points and pulled down four rebounds and was a defensive demon with five blocked shots in helping lead Florida State to a 64-62 win over Georgia Tech at the Georgia Dome in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals...his five blocked shots is tied for the third most in a single game in the ACC Tournament by a freshman...all five points came in the first half and helped Florida Sate jump to a 33-27 lead...the halftime lead was important as the Yellow Jackets took a late lead before Florida State's Derwin Kitchen won the game for the Seminoles with an old fashioned three-point play with seven seconds left in the game....it was Singleton defensively who helped the Seminoles take control of the game in the final four minutes...he earned a steal at the 3:48 mark to help preserve a one-point Florida State lead, pulled down a defensive rebound that began a break that resulted in a lay-up by Uche Echefu and a 61-58 lead with 3:18 remaining and blocked a shot by Alade Aminu with 2:09 remaining and the Seminoles clinging to a three point lead...one point and five rebounds in the Seminoles' victory over Georgia Tech in Tallahassee (Feb. 5)...also blocked one shot and earned one steal in the Seminoles' 62-58 come-from-behind win at home...his one point on a free throw proved vitally important as it cut the Georgia Tech lead to three with 11:52 remaining in the game...his free throw began a 25-17 game ending run that saw Florida State go from as many as six points down with 14:14 left to six points up with 29 seconds left in the game...(vs. Maryland): scored nine points, pulled down six rebounds and blocked five shots in Florida State's only game of the season against NCAA Tournament participant Maryland...totaled two points and three rebounds in the overtime period as Florida State won the game, 76-73, at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee (Jan. 17)...totaled four points in the first half to spur the Seminoles to a 29-27 lead at the intermission...scored three second half points as the game was sent into overtime by a late Maryland basket and scored two points as Florida State outscored the Terps, 10-7, to gain the win...was outstanding defensively in the second half with four blocked shots to take four potential baskets away from the Terps in the tightly contested game...blocked shots came at the 13:47 mark with the Seminoles holding a 44-38 lead, at the 10:50 mark with Florida State holding a 52-43 lead, at the 10:10 mark with the Seminoles up 52-45 and at the 2:57 mark with Florida State up 64-58...all led to the important victory - the Seminoles' second ACC win of the season...made two free throws in the final 16 seconds of the overtime period to seal the victory for Florida State his first extra session free throw came at the 0:16 mark and put the Seminoles up 74-72...his second free throw closed out the Terps at the 0:01 mark to mark the final score 76-73...(vs. Miami): averaged 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in two games against NIT participant Miami...totaled three blocked shots and two steals as the Seminoles and the Hurricanes split the regular season series with each team winning on its home court...scored six points, added two rebounds and two blocked shots as Florida State traveled to play at Coral Gables (Jan. 21)...the Hurricanes outscored the Seminoles 17-12 in the final four minutes of the game to take the 75-69 victory...scored two first half points and four in the second half as the Seminoles worked to take the lead...tied the game at 46-46 with a steal and a spectacular dunk with 12:36 left in the game...scored five points and pulled down three rebounds in Florida State's 80-67 victory over Miami in Tallahassee (Feb. 18)...three points in the second half came on a 3-point shot that gave the Seminoles a 36-31 lead with 18:33 left in the game...the Hurricanes led at halftime and his 3-point shot allowed the Seminoles to start building their lead to as many as 13 in gaining the victory...was part of the Seminoles' defensive effort on All-ACC First Team selection Jack McClinton as the Seminoles collectively held him to 13 points and zero assists...(vs. North Carolina): averaged 7.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots in two games against NCAA National Champion North Carolina...scored eight points, pulled down two rebounds and blocked two shots in the Seminoles' game against No. 3 North Carolina in Tallahassee (Jan. 28)...an important 3-point shot brought the Seminoles to within one at the 8:51 mark and helped the Seminoles cut as much as a 13-point deficit to one...the Seminoles took the lead on a lay-up by Luke Loucks at the 8:29 mark...a blocked shot on a Deon Thompson lay-up attempt allowed the Seminoles to maintain a 68-63 advantage with 6:35 remaining...the see-saw ending culminated in a 3-point shot by Bob Cousy award winning point guard Ty Lawson at the Buzzer to give the Tar Heels the 80-77 victory...scored seven points to go along with two rebounds and one blocked shot in helping the Seminoles first half and led virtually the entire second half in claiming the 78-65 win...(vs. Virginia): averaged 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in victories over Virginia during the 2008-09 regular season...was a perfect two-of two (1.000 percent) from the free throw line as the Seminoles' swept the regular season series with a 73-62 win in Charlottesville (Jan. 24) and a 68-57 win in Tallahassee (Feb. 10)...earned a total of two blocked shots and four steals against the Cavaliers as a freshman...scored seven points and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds as the Seminoles won on the road to improve their record to 16-4 and 3-2 in the ACC...the win was the Seminoles second ACC road win of the season...totaled two first half points and five second half points as the Seminoles led the game wire-to-wire to gain the win...a Singleton 3-point shot gave Florida State its largest lead of the game - 21 points at 54-33 - with 10:31 remaining in the game...scored five points (all in the second three blocked shots and two steals in leading the Seminoles to the regular season sweep...scored five points and pulled down two rebounds to go along with two blocked shots as the Seminoles earned a come-from-behind victory over Virginia Tech in Blacksburg (Feb. 21)...all five points came in the first half and allowed the Seminoles to take a commanding 43-33 lead at the intermission...scored four points in a 39 second span of the first half to set the Seminoles on the path to victory...a lay-up after his own offensive rebound at the 18:55 mark put Florida State up 4-3 and a dunk after his own steal at the 18:16 mark gave the Seminoles an early 8-3 advantage...a second half block on a lay-up attempt by Virginia Tech's Dorenzo Hudson proved to be one of the biggest plays of the game...his block came at the 10:43 mark with the Seminoles down 49-47..the block helped Florida State's defense hold the Hokies scoreless over a nearly four minute span at the same time the Seminoles' offense season with a 63-53 victory over Virginia Tech in Tallahassee (March 8)...the victory pushed the Seminoles record to 23-8 overall and 10-6 in the ACC -- good for a fourth place finish in the ACC standings for the 2008-09 season...all four of his points came in the first half and helped the Seminoles take a 32-25 lead at the intermission...(vs. Wake Forest): scored five points and pulled down three rebounds in the Seminoles' only game of the season against NCAA Tournament participant Wake Forest...scored four second half points as Florida State worked from behind in their largest deficit of the season...Wake won the game at home, 86-63 (Feb. 14)...(In three games during the ACC Tournament): averaged 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in three ACC Tournament games as the Seminoles advanced to the ACC Tournament championship game for the first time in school history...shot well from the field (.526, 10 of 19) and from the 3-point line (.600, six of 10) and led Florida State with nine blocked shots in the three-game event...five points and five blocked shots in the Seminoles' quarterfinal victory over Georgia Tech (March 13)...seven points and two rebounds in 17 minutes of play in the Seminoles' victory over No. 1 ranked and top seeded North Carolina in the Seminoles' semifinal win over the Tar Heels that sent Florida State to its first ever ACC Tournament championship game appearance...scored 15 points on four-of five shooting from the 3-point line in the ACC Tournament championship game against Duke...(vs. Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament): scored 12 points and pulled down three rebounds to go along with two steals in the Seminoles' NCAA Tournament game against Wisconsin (March 20)...the game was played at the Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Id., and was the Seminoles' first NCAA Tournament game since 1998...six points in each half as the Seminoles fell as the No. 5 seed to the No. 12 seed Badgers 61-59 in overtime...six first half points on two 3-point shots spurred the Seminoles to a 31-19 halftime lead...his long range shots came within 37 seconds of each other that gave Florida State a 26-29 lead with 3:05 remaining until halftime...scored four second half points and added two in the overtime period...two second half free throws at the 11:14 mark gave Florida State a 39-27 lead and a jumper in the paint put Florida State up 46-39 with 4:34 left in regulation...gave Florida State another lead in the overtime period with a jumper from the paint to move the Seminoles ahead 56-55 with 3:09 left in the game...Wisconsin outscored the Badgers, 5-3 from that point to take the win and move on to the second round...(vs. Florida): scored eight points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds in the Seminoles' game against NIT participant Florida...the Seminoles' won the game at home, 57-55, against the No. 21/23 ranked Gators (Dec. 7)...the game was Florida State's first of the season and Singletons' first career game and victory over a ranked team...of his eight points, six came in the first half and two in the second...gave Florida State its first lead of the game with a 3-point shot that ranked as the Seminoles' first basket of the game to give the Seminoles a 3-2 lead...added a second 3-point to give the Seminoles a 10-7 lead with 12:02 left in the first half...his second 3-pointer broke a tie and put the Seminoles up 10-7 AT CHEROKEE: Attended Cherokee High School in Canton, Ga. as a freshman, sophomore and junior...averaged a double-double of 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.0 blocked shots as a junior...averaged a career-high 20.3 points and 8.2 rebounds as a sophomore and a double-double of 13.0 points and 11.7 rebounds as a freshman starter on the varsity at Cherokee...led Cherokee to its first state tournament appearance in 25 years during his sophomore season.
