Vines shot with 8:23 remaining and began a Florida State fast break that ended in an Adrian Crawford 3-point shot and a 48-44 lead...added two free throws with 6:03 remaining to boost the Seminoles' lead to 54-47, and the Jackets did not get any closer during the remainder of the game...Mathews helped limit Georgia Tech's All-ACC center Alvin Jones to three-of-12 shooting from the field...four points, one rebound and one steal as a starter against the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta (Jan. 27)...(vs. Maryland) averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots in two games against NCAA Tournament Final Four participant Maryland...11 points (seven in the second half) on four-of-six shooting from the field and three-of four shooting from the free throw line in the wonderful victory over No. 17 ranked and Final Four participant Maryland (Feb. 14) on the road in Cole Field House...two rim-rocking dunks within three minutes of each other allowed the Seminoles to maintain a comfortable second half lead...grabbed probably his most important rebound of the season with 1:40 remaining in the game and the Seminoles clinging to a 68-65 lead...snuck in and grabbed a rebound off a missed 3-point shot attempt by Antwuan Dixon and immediately put the ball back up and through the basket for a 70-65 Florida State lead...Maryland got to within one at 72-71 with 1:29 remaining but never any closer and the Seminoles gained the monumental victory...said head coach Steve Robinson following the game: "For this team, for this time period, this is the biggest win that we could have had.
