making a career-high 32 3-point field goals (fourth) and a career-high 51 free throws (fourth)...was one of only three players on the team who started all 35 games (also Bernard James and Xavier Gibson) and ranked third on the team with a career-high 27.0 minutes played per game average...helped lead Florida State to a near school record 25 overall wins, a school record tying 12-4 record in ACC play and a third place finish in the ACC standings as the Seminoles earned four top four finishes (and four first round byes) in the ACC Tournament...including ACC Tournament play, the Seminoles were 48-24 in ACC play during Loucks' career...the signature performance of his career came against No. 4 North Carolina in the championship game of the ACC Tournament as he was credited with a basketball...in averaging a career-high 7.7 points per game, the graduate student scored at least five points in 24 of the Seminoles' 35 games ...played well as the Seminoles defeated an ACC high six ranked teams during the season including Duke and North Carolina twice each...averaged 7.1 points and 4.7 assists in the nine games the Seminoles played against ranked teams...was Florida State's Florida State's incredible 90-57 win over No. 4 North Carolina (Jan. 14) in Tallahassee...(vs. Boston College): Scored two points and added four assists and one steal in the Seminoles only game of the season against Boston College...his four assists led the Seminoles in a losing cause as the Eagles took the 64-60 win in Chestnut Hill (Feb. 8)...(vs. Clemson): Averaged 7.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in two games against Clemson during the regular season...was nearly perfect from the free throw line (seven of eight, .875 percent) in the two games as the Seminoles and Tigers split the regular season series with each team winning on their home court...totaled four points, three assists and three rebounds as Florida State fell at Clemson in its ACC opener, 79-59, in Littlejohn Coliseum at Clemson (Jan. 7)...all four of his points came in the second half as Florida State fought its way back into the game...continued his March to remember as he scored 10 points to go along with four assists, two rebounds and one steal as the Seminoles closed out their ACC schedule with an 80-72 win in Tallahassee (March 4)...was one of five Seminoles top score in double figures as Florida State closed out its regular season with a 21-9 overall record and a school record tying 12-4 mark in ACC play...seven first half points and two first half assists helped Florida State jump to win over No. 2 seeded Duke in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament at Philips Arena in Atlanta (March 10)...the win sent the Seminoles to the ACC Tournament championship game for the second time in school history...managed the see-saw game that had eight ties and 10 lead changes before the Seminoles pulled away ever so slightly for the win...made the game-securing shot - a 3-pointer - with 12 seconds left in the game to secure the victory...totaled five points in the final 1:00 of the game as he made two free throws at the 1:00 mark to put the Seminoles up 60-57 after being fouled by Duke's Mason Plumlee...a lay-up by Duke's Austin Rivers brought Duke to within one a 60-59 with 42 seconds remaining in the game...after a Duke timeout, the Seminoles worked 30 seconds off of the 35-second clock before Loucks pulled the trigger on the game securing shot...the Seminoles withstood a pair of 3-point shots by Austin Rivers and Seth Curry at the buzzer to win the game and advance to the championship game...(vs. Georgia Tech): Scored nine points to go along with seven assists and four rebounds in the Seminoles' only game of the season against Georgia Tech...had a strong assist:turnover ratio with seven assists and three turnovers in 26 minutes played as the Seminoles' defeated the Yellow Jackets, 68-54, in Tallahassee (Feb. 1)...four points and five assists in the second half as Florida State worked its way back from one of the few halftime deficits it suffered during the entire 2011-12 season...scored what proved to be the game-winning basket at the 18:34 mark of the second half on a jumper to give the Seminoles a 28-27 lead...almost immediately assisted on a 3-pointer by Deividas Dulkys to push the Seminoles lead to four with 18:09 left in the game...his five assists in the second half helped account for 13 points including six on a pair of 3-point shots by Michael Snaer...after trailing in the first half, the Seminoles pushed their lead to as many as 17 in the second half to win their six consecutive ACC game...(vs. Maryland): Scored nine points and added six assists and three rebounds in the Seminoles' only game of the season against Maryland...another strong game from the point guard position in an ACC game with six assists and only two turnovers in 26 minutes of play...the Seminoles scored the first two points of the game in winning, 84-70, at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee...totaled four points and two assists in the first half as Florida State took a 36-33 lead...scored what proved to be the game-winning basket on a 3-point shot to give the Seminoles a 43-42 lead with 17:18 remaining in the game...the Terps held the lead for all of seven seconds after a jumper by Alex Len before Loucks hit his only 3-point shot of the game...two assists on consecutive 3-point shots by Deividas Dulkys in a 27 second span that increased the Seminoles lead from four points (49-45) with 15:27 left to 10 points (55-45) with 15:00 left in the game...the Seminoles led comfortably by double figures for the remainder of the game...(vs. Miami): Averaged 7.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds in three games against NIT participant Miami...totaled 15 assists and only four turnovers for a 3.8:1 assist:turnover ratio as Florida State and Miami split its regular season series and the Seminoles defeated the Hurricanes in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament...also totaled four steals and two blocked shots as the Seminoles won two of the three games against one of their in-state rivals...totaled 14 points, five assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots in one of his most complete performances of his career as Florida State defeated Miami, 82-71, in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament at Philips Arena in Atlanta (March 9)...was a perfect eight of eight from the free throw line in leading the Seminoles to their first round victory over the Hurricanes...eight points in the second half - all on free throws - helped the Seminoles pull away for the win...all eight of his free throws came in the final 2:05 of the game as head coach Leonard Hamilton put the basketball in his hands and he responded in a big way...two free throws at the 2:05 mark put Florida State up 70-59...two more free throws at the 1:41 mark put the Seminoles up 72-61...two more and the Seminoles were up 76-66 with 1:08 left before advancing...closed the game out with 45 seconds remaining to make the score 78-66...nearly outscored the Hurricanes (8-12) in the final 2:05 of the game...scored the Seminoles' first basket of the game (a 3-pointer) and added a second shot from the bonusphere to put the Seminoles up 18-12 with 9:49 remaining before intermission...scored seven points and totaled six rebounds and six assists in the Seminoles' 64-59 win over Miami in Tallahassee (Feb. 11)...a first half 3-pointer at the 8:05 mark tied the game at 16-16 and allowed the Seminoles to draw even after trailing by as many as five in the first half...Loucks' 3-pointer began a 15-10 half ending run that gave the Seminoles a 28-26 halftime lead...four second half points allowed the Seminoles to take the lead, increased its lead State an insurmountable 9-2 lead with only 2:33 elapsed in the game...was the assist man for fellow senior Deividas Dulkys career day during which he made a phenomenal and career-high eight three point shots...assisted on two of Dulkys' 3-point shots in the first half and two more in the second half as the Seminoles led 36-28 at the half, by as many as 12 in the first half and by as many as 33 in the second half...(vs. NC State): Scored three points, added four assists and four rebounds in Florida State's only game of the season against NCAA Tournament participant NC State...also added 37-26 lead at halftime...Florida State scored the first basket of the game and never trailed...his lone bucket of the game - a 3-pointer - gave the Seminoles a 17-12 lead with 10:34 left in the game...three first half assists led directly to eight points including a lay-up by Bernard James at the 18:17 mark to put the Seminoles up 4-2 and two more assists on 3-point shots by Deividas Dulkys and Ian Miller to end the half and increase the Seminoles' lead to 11 points...(vs. Virginia): Averaged 3.5 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds in two games against NCAA Tournament participant Virginia...totaled a team-high five assists and tied for the team lead with four steals as the Seminoles won in both Tallahassee and Charlottesville...scored six points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist as the Seminoles defeated the No. 18 Cavaliers, 58-55, in Tallahassee...five second half points including a jumper with 3:36 remaining that gave Florida State a 49-45 lead...the Cavaliers had taken a one point lead just a minute before...Loucks' basket, coupled with a 3-pointer by Michael Snaer, not only put the Seminoles back in the lead but gave them some breathing room going down the stretch...following the basket by Loucks, the Seminoles led by at least two points the rest of the way and won the game by three...scored one point to go along with four assists as Florida State rallied to win, 63-60, in Charlottesville (March 1)...three of his assists came in the second half and help the Seminoles rally for the win...final assist of the game came on a 3-pointer by Ian Miller with 3:16 left it in the game that brought the Seminoles to within three after trailing by as many as 11...Loucks helped the Seminoles make up their 11 point deficit in less than three minutes to tie the game at 60-60 on a 3-point shot by Deividas Dulkys with 1:55 remaining...the comeback was made complete as Ian Miller hit a 3-point shot from the right elbow with 0:08 seconds remaining the game for one of the more incredible comebacks in school and ACC history...(vs. Virginia Tech): Averaged 5.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in two games against NIT participant Virginia Tech...led the Seminoles in assists with nine and also blocked two shots as the Seminoles swept the season series from the Hokies...totaled seven points and five assists as Florida State won, 63-59, in Blacksburg (Jan. 10) for their first ACC win of the season after losing their conference opener at Clemson...the Seminoles never trailed in winning on the road...all five of his assists came in the first half and helped Florida State jump to a very important 30-21 lead...proved important because the Hokies rallied to within three late in the game including with five seconds remaining...assisted on the first basket of the game - a 3-pointer by Michael Snaer - to give Florida State a 3-0 advantage...his own 3-pointer as the Seminoles' next basket put Florida State up 6-2 before the first media ACC Tournament...the win gave Florida State the tiebreaker over Virginia Tech which allowed them to earn the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament marking the second consecutive season the Seminoles had earned one of the top four seeds and a bye in the first round of the conference tournament...his three points came on a 3-point shot with 1:50 remaining in the first half to give Florida State a 30-32 lead...the Seminoles led for virtually the entire game and won going away...(vs. Wake Forest): totaled two points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal in the Seminoles' only game of the season against NCAA Tournament participant Wake Forest...was perfect from the free throw line (two of two) as the Seminoles defeated the Demon Deacons, 51-47, in Tallahassee (March 3)...Florida State's seven points ranks as his NCAA Tournament high after totaling zero points against Wisconsin in the 2009 NCAA Tournament...his four assists ranked as the second highest total in the game behind teammate Derwin Kitchen...all seven of his points came in the second half as the Seminoles outscored Gonzaga, 41-32, as they worked to get themselves back into the game after tailing by as many as 18 in the first half...the Bulldogs led, 35-19 at the intermission...totaled seven points and three assists to earn direct responsibility for 15 of the Seminoles' 41 second half points...biggest assist of the half came with 2:21 remaining in the second half and came on a 3-point shot by Deividas Dulkys to bring the Seminoles to within four at 59-55...was a huge factor in the Seminoles' second half averaged 0.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three games during the Old Spice Classic in helping lead the Seminoles to the championship of the event...Florida State defeated Iona, Alabama and Marquette to win the Seminoles' second in-season tournament championship in two years...prior to winning the Global Sports Classic in 2009 and the Old Spice Classic in 2010, the Seminoles had not won a tournament championship since 1988...totaled zero points and one blocked shot in the Seminoles' 54-49 victory over Iona in the first round of the event (Nov. 26)...his block came with 58 seconds left in the first half and the Seminoles trailing by two at 24-22...his blocked shot of a Jermel Jenkins jumper allowed Florida State to keep its deficit at two and led directly to a 3-point shot by PERSONAL: Born April 1, 1990...Luke is the son of Mabeth and Lincoln Loucks...his dad was a walk-on member of the Seminole football team in the 1980's and two uncles also attended Florida State...a brother, Jacob, was a member of the basketball team at UCF... an all-county second-team selection as a strong-armed quarterback for the Clearwater football team as a junior...a pro-style quarterback who set the school record for passing yards in a game with 423 in a 47-31 victory over Palm Harbor High School during his junior season...threw for 1,989 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior...a two-time all PCAC All-County Selection as a football player...selected Florida State over Georgia Tech, St. Joseph's, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Tennessee, South Florida and UCF...earned a 3.9 grade point average and was a member of the national honor society in high school.
