ON ENGSTROM: A walk-on member of the team for two seasons (2004 and 2005) and played in four games during his career...all four games came during the 2004-05 season after he missed the entire 2003-04 season with a broken right foot which he suffered in pre-season practice...had to earn his way onto the roster as a walk-on during both seasons he played for the Seminoles...earned one varsity letter as a member of the team.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2005): Averaged 1.0 points (13th on the team) as he appeared in four games during his sophomore season...earned playing time for the first time in the Seminoles' third game of the season against Shawnee State (Nov. 24)...scored two points in one minute of play in Florida State's victory over South Alabama (Dec. 16) as he scored a basket for the first time in his college career....earned a career-high four minutes of playing time and scored two points against Jacksonville (Dec. 21)...was a perfect one-of-one from the field for a career-high tying two points and earned his first career assist in the Seminoles' victory over the Dolphins...shot well from the field as he made two of the three shots he attempted from the field in four games...playing time in an ACC game came for the first time against Wake Forest (Feb. 12) in Winston-Salem...Florida State was 3-1 in games during which Engstrom earned playing time...pulled down one rebound and had one steal in five minutes of play in Florida State's first exhibition game against Pan American University of Mexico.

AS A FRESHMAN (2004): Earned a spot on the team as a walk-on and practiced for the entire season but did not appear in any games...suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot in the pre-season that caused him to miss the entire season.

AT LIBERTYVILLE: Graduated from Libertyville High School in 2003...earned All-Area and All-Conference honors as both a junior and senior...named to the All-Tournament team at the Schaumburg Thanksgiving Tournament his junior and senior seasons...led his team to the Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Championship with three 3-point shots made and 22 points during his senior season...was also a baseball standout in high school.

PERSONAL: Born Jan. 24, 1985...Ben is the son of Mary and Scott Engstrom...a sister, Jessie Engstrom, attends Florida State...his father played basketball at Western Kentucky...a member of the National Honor Society in high school.
