Game Notes vs Stetson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Fifth-ranked Florida State (30-9) begins an eight-game home stand - its longest of the season - with a two-game, mid-week series against Stetson (17-24) starting Tuesday, April 22 at 6 pm. Game two of the series is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23.

The Seminoles and Hatters are scheduled to meet three times in 2014 with two coming in Tallahassee and one in DeLand on May 6. FSU leads the all-time series 52-22 and 32-13 against the Hatters when playing inside the friendly confines of Dick Howser Stadium.

The Seminoles have won four straight in the series and four in a row in Tallahassee. Dating back to 1992, FSU has won 12 of its last 13 games against Stetson when playing on Mike Martin Field.

Stetson recorded a one-run victory in DeLand back on May 9, 2012 for its last win in the series, while the Hatters last win in Tallahassee came in 11 innings in a 6-4 victory on March 23, 2011.

Florida State swept the four-game series last year as the Seminoles outscored the Hatters 46-11. FSU scored in double figures in three of those games scoring 14 runs twice. Since 2005, nine of the 21 games in the series have been decided by four runs or less with the Noles owning a record of 7-2 during that span.

Among the list of winningest active Division I coaches by victories, FSU head coach Mike Martin and Stetson head coach Pete Dunn rank second (1,800) and eighth (1245), respectively.

Stetson enters Tuesday's contest on a three-game win streak after sweeping the season series from then-Atlantic Sun leader Lipscomb. Florida State took 2-of-3 at Wake Forest to maintain a 3.5 game lead over Clemson for first place in the race for the ACC Atlantic Division title.

Both games will be streamed over the internet on the Seminoles.com All-Access player ($). Audio for the two games will also be available on the All-Access player. Locally fans can listen to both games on 1270 AM.
