TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - No. 6 Florida State (30-6) welcomes South Alabama (27-10) for a mid-week showdown in Tallahassee Tuesday, April 16 at 6 pm. The two schools are meeting for the first since May 16, 2006 when the Jaguars visited Tallahassee for one game and defeated the Seminoles 7-2 in 11 innings.
FSU leads the all-time series 35-26-1 and 24-15-1 on its home turf. The last six meetings have come in Tallahassee including four games that were part of NCAA Regional play (1995 & 2003). Both schools have split the last eight meetings as three of those games were decided in extra innings - all victories by South Alabama.
Of the 62 games played between these two schools, 28 have been decided by three runs or less with South Alabama leading the charge at 15-12-1.
