Tallahassee, Fla. - Seventh-ranked Florida State (22-7, 7-5 ACC) returns to the state of North Carolina for the second time this year as the Seminoles travel to Winston-Salem to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (10-21, 2-10 ACC) beginning Friday, April 9.
The Seminoles have won five straight in the series and 27 of the last 32 games. FSU leads the all-time series 72-19, while holding a 20-6 lead on the Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem.
FSU is 2-0-1 in its last three road series at Wake Forest. The Seminoles have only lost two of nine all-time series in Winston-Salem (6-2-1) with the Deacs series victories coming in 2000 and 2002. Last year, the Seminoles swept the season series in Tallahassee outscoring the Demon Deacons 35-20.
The two most runs scored by Florida State in the series have both come in Winston-Salem as the Seminoles scored 27 back in 2004 and 21 in the series opener back in 2008. The 72 victories are the second most against an ACC opponent trailing only the University of Miami (136).
