TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Conference rivals collide this weekend as No. 5 Florida State (25-4, 8-4) heads south to face Miami (20-12, 5-7 ACC) in a three-game conference series beginning Friday, April 5 inside Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.

In the most played series in school history for both teams, Friday's game marks the 269th meeting between these two rivals as the Seminoles lead the all-time series 143-121-4. Florida State has won the last three regular-season series over Miami.

The all-time series is tied in Coral Gables at 62-62-2. FSU took 2-of-3 from UM inside the Light in 2011 and has won two of the last three series played down in Miami.

Last year, Florida State completed the regular-season sweep with a walk-off victory in the 10th inning of the series finale. It marked FSU's first sweep of the Hurricanes since 2002 and the first sweep in Tallahassee since 2000.

The series has been closely contested as of late with FSU winning nine of the last 15 games. Nine of those 15 games have been decided by two runs or less with FSU holding a 6-3 advantage.

This weekend also features two coaches that rank in the top 10 among NCAA Winningest Active Division I coaches by both winning percentage and victories. FSU's Mike Martin ranks second in winning percentage and third in wins, while Miami's Jim Morris ranks sixth in winning percentage and fifth in wins.

In 2012, Florida State swept its intra-state rival Miami with a walk-off victory in the 10th inning of the series finale. It marked FSU's first sweep of the Hurricanes since 2002 and the first sweep in Tallahassee since 2000. Florida State outscored Miami 25-10 in the series holding the Hurricanes to runs in just four of the 28 innings that they played. The Seminoles hit .305 as a team, while the pitching staff posted a team ERA of 2.89.

RHP Luke Weaver (3-0, 1.09 ERA) will make his debut as the Seminoles' Friday night starter this weekend marking the first pitcher other than Brandon Leibrandt to start a Friday night game since Sean Gilmartin held the spot for the entire 2011 season. Weaver makes his return to the weekend rotation for the first time since May 14, 2012 when the right hander went 4.0 innings in a start at Clemson. Friday's game at Miami marks Weaver's third career start in the weekend rotation. The DeLand, Fla., product is 0-0 with a 5.14 ERA in two career weekend starts.

LHP Brandon Leibrandt (4-2, 4.89 ERA) will start Saturday's game and RHP Scott Sitz (5-0, 0.69 ERA) will start on Sunday to round out the weekend rotation against the Canes.
