Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida State returns home for a two-game mid-week series against Stetson before heading back on the road for five straight games. FSU leads the all-time series against the Hatters at 39-20, while posting an all-time record of 26-12 inside Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles have won seven in a row in the series including last year's 17-1 victory in an elimination game of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional. This is the first regular season meeting between these two schools since 2005. During FSU's current win streak, six of the seven games have been decided by four runs or less.
Last year, the Seminoles warded off elimination by downing the Hatters in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional. FSU broke the game wide open with an 11-run seventh to take a commanding lead in the game. One run was all the help Ryan Strauss needed as the right hander kept the Hatters off the scoreboard scattering six hits over seven innings of work. He struck out four and walked only one as it was the longest outing for Strauss since he threw seven innings against Virginia Tech back on April 15, 2007.
