TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - No. 9 Florida State (4-0) will renew its rivalry this weekend against USF (1-2) as the two schools square-off for the first time since facing off in the 2002 Tallahassee Regional - a game won by the Seminoles 13-6. The last time the two schools met during the regular season dates back to a single game in Tallahassee in 1999.
FSU opens the season at 4-0 after claiming a series sweep over Rhode Island and a mid-week victory over Jacksonville. USF went 1-2 on opening weekend claiming a 20-2 victory over Purdue, while falling to Louisville (10-1) and Indiana (12-2).

USF's last win in Tallahassee came on February 25, 1989 as the Bulls blanked the Seminoles 10-0.
The Seminoles recorded their most runs in the series in 2000 in an 18-7 victory. That game also marked the highest combined scoring game in the series. FSU's widest margin of victory was a 17-0 shutout back on April 26, 1980. The Seminoles have posted seven shutouts in the series compared to just two by the Bulls.
Against current schools from the BIG EAST Conference, Florida State owns an all-time record of 129-25 with the most games coming against USF (81 games). The Seminoles have never lost to Pittsburgh (19-0), Rutgers (2-0) and Providence (1-0). The Friars last year of baseball was in 1999 when they played in the Tallahassee Regional.
