POST GAME QUOTES

GAME TWO:

BETHUNE-COOKMAN2
FLORIDA STATE6

BETHUNE-COOKMAN HEAD COACH
Mervyl Melendez

"I guess we are, bottom line, 0-7 in Tallahassee. We can't seem to pull if off for some reason. We have been close a lot of times, but things happen. I count on my guys. I think that we showed a lot of composure at the beginning, especially with the crowd. It just wasn't good enough. When we needed to step up in the seventh inning they put a five spot there. You got to give them a lot of credit; those hitters were patient enough knowing that sooner or later they were going to get some pitches they could handle. I think that Francisco (Rodriguez) did an excellent job, excellent, excellent job tonight. We couldn't ask for more from him. We just needed the bullpen to step up tonight and they didn't."

BETHUNE-COOKMAN PLAYERS:
Francisco Rodriguez

(On his pitching strategy against Tony Thomas, Jr.)

"Actually, that is basically all that they had. I was throwing my best pitch down, it was my change up. I worked the change-up away, away. Sometimes I would come at him inside."

FLORIDA STATE HEAD COACH
Mike Martin

"It was a heck of a ballgame. I'm very, very impressed with Rodriguez (Francisco Rodriguez). I thought he kept us off balance as well as anybody. He really was an impressive guy. Their whole team was very impressive but that is what you expect when you get to this point in the season. A lot of things impressed me about our club. One was Michael's (Hyde) perseverance. He just continued to battle when things weren't going exactly right for his team offensively and he kept his team in the game and gave us a chance. Then Matt (Fairel) came in and pitched beautifully and of course we know all of the big hits in the game. Buster's home run was huge and a lot of guys contributed greatly in the inning that we scored five."

FLORIDA STATE PLAYERS:

Mark Hallberg

"I got a 2-0 count, I was looking for a fastball over the plate. I got a fastball, put a good swing on it, the rest is history. It was a fun thing to be part of tonight."

Buster Posey

"I felt pretty good. That's what I love about this time of year, playoff baseball. You can feel it not only in the stands, but with the team as well. I was pleased to come up with the big hit."
