No. 23 Seminoles Baseball Drop 5-3 Decision to No. 13 Tennessee

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fl. - Tennessee righthander Kurt Scott struck out 10 batters as he led the No. 13 Volunteers to a 5-3 win over No. 23 Florida State in the ACC Baseball Blast at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.
FSU jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning with the help of a walk, two hit batters and a Tennessee error. Volunteer righthander Kurt Scott dropped a Brian Cox pop fly with bases loaded scoring shortstop Brooks Badeaux and second baseman Jose Zabala. Centerfielder Shawn McCorkel gave the Seminoles their third run after stealing home while Cox evaded a run down by the Volunteers in the double steal attempt.
The Vols took a 4-3 advantage in the sixth inning as catcher Jason Evans led off with a double to rightfield. Evans scored on an Eduardo Figueroa fielder's choice. Figueroa then advanced to third on an error by Zabala and was driven home with a basehit to leftfield by second baseman Jeff Pickler.
Seminole righthander Jon McDonald (0-1) gave up three runs on five hits in relief as he took the loss. McDonald struck out four batters in three-plus innings. FSU freshman lefthander Chris Ginn hurled five innings in his first collegiate start surrendering two runs on four hits.
