HIGH SCHOOL: Garnered third team All-American and first team All-Region accolades from Rawlings in 2007...also received All-State honorable mention honors in 2007...made 13 appearances for Niceville High School as a junior including 11 starts...the right hander posted a 6-2 record with a 1.35 ERA...allowed just 10 earned runs in 54 innings of work while striking out 91 batters...was also a member of the 2007 Connie Mack World Championship team as well as the 2007 World Wood Bat Championship squad...for the Midland Redskins, of the Connie Mack League, Wood went 3-0 on the mound with a 0.00 ERA...allowed just one run, unearned, in 17 innings of work, while striking out 19 batters in six appearances...in his only start for the Redskins, Wood threw a complete game...drafted in the 36th round by the Houston Astros in the 2008 MLB Draft.
