A part-time starter in the outfield as a freshman who also saw limited time as a pitcher...made five appearances and gave up six earned runs in just 11.2 innings on the year...expected to see more time on the mound this season...an excellent defensive outfielder with good speed... played in the Cape Cod League over the summer.

1999 AS A FRESHMAN: Started 45 games and played in 69...sixth on the team with 47 runs scored...spent the majority of the season platooning with Karl Jernigan in centerfield, but also made five pitching appearances...recorded his first career RBI vs. Troy St. (2/12) in 2-for-5 outing...had only home run of the season and knocked in four runs on 2/13 vs. Troy St...went 3-for-3 against Florida on 2/21 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored ...scored three runs, going 2-for-4 vs. Virginia on 3/12...ripped a pair of doubles with two runs scored and two RBI at Maryland (5/8)...went 2-for-3 in second game of doubleheader with an RBI and run scored at Duke...did not get a hit in five at bats in the ACC Tournament, but scored a run...earned a victory on the mound vs. Akron, going 5.2 innings and giving up two runs on three hits and striking out five...named to the NCAA All-Regional Team...went 3-for-5 with three RBI in FSU's win over Jacksonville (5/29) in the NCAA Regional ...scored the tying run vs. Auburn (6/5) in the ninth inning of the Super Regional after a walk...went 2-for-2 with a run scored in 8-6 CWS win over Stanford (6/17)...added two hits and an RBI in FSU's 13 inning win over Stanford (6/18) in Omaha.

PREP: Named the New York Player of the Year, Northeast Player of the Year and Nassau County Player of the Year as a senior...led his high school to the state championship with a 16-0 record and the team's top batting average...garnered all-state, all-conference and all-county and a junior and senior...also an all-conference pick in his sophomore season ...also lettered in football and basketball... earned all-conference honors in basketball as a junior and senior...an honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Born on December 10, 1979...an education major...roommate is Matt Chlebek of the Seminole basketball team... was an 11th round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the MLB June draft after high school.
