At Florida State: Senior who will see time in either left field or center field in 2003...started 59 games a year ago with the majority of those starts coming in center field...played in the Cape Cod League over the summers with brother Mark...finished seventh on the team last year with a .403 on-base percentage and third with 14 stolen bases.

Junior Year (2003): Opened the season as the starter in center field...scored a key run in 4-3 win at Stanford (2/8)...hit his first home run as a Seminole on 2/21 vs. Appalachian State and finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI...went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, a double and the second home run of his career against Florida (3/9)...went 2-for-3 with a HR and two RBI vs. Wake Forest on 4/5...had two hits, including a homer, and two RBI vs. Clemson on 4/13...had two hits vs. JU on 4/16 and Miami on 4/18...ran down a fly ball in the gap for the final out of the game with two runners on to secure a 4-2 win at Miami (4/18)...2-for-5 at Maryland on 5/9 with two runs scored...had his best game of the season vs. Maryland on 5/10, going 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI...3-for-5 with four RBI and his fifth homer at Maryland on 5/11...home run tied the game in the top of the ninth...went 2-for-5 at Duke on 5/16...third on the team with 14 stolen bases....did not play in the ACC Tournament due to an elbow injury...had just one hit in 17 at bats in the NCAA Regional...did score three runs and draw four walks...went 0-for-2 against Texas in the Super Regional...hit .240 while playing with teammate and brother Mark Sauls on the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod League.

Junior College: Attended Gulf Coast Community College...earned first team Academic All-Conference honors both years at GCCC...hit .310 with 3 home runs his freshman year and .370 with 11 home runs as a sophomore...voted first team All-Conference and second team All-State following his sophomore campaign...was a JUCO All-Star team selection as a freshman and sophomore...played in the NEBCL during the summer following his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Prep: As a junior, had a batting average of .495 with nine home runs...voted All-County and All-State as a junior... named to the All-State team his senior year after hitting .370 with three home runs.
