2008: A Brooks Wallace Award Preseason Watch List candidate.

2007: Registered a career-high for wins in a season as he posted a 10-3 record in 17 appearances including 16 starts in 2007...finished third among starters with a 3.40 ERA...started the season with an 8-0 record...recorded his first win as a starter against Tennessee while working a then career-high five innings...returned to the starting rotation for the weekend series against Hofstra and topped his previous career-high with six innings pitched...tied his career-high for innings pitched with six innings of work against Appalachian State...set a pair of career-highs for innings pitched (8) and strike outs (8) against Indiana...worked at least five innings in 10 of his 16 starts in 2007...shut out the Hoosiers for all eight innings and then shut out Boston College for seven innings in his second ACC start...allowed career-highs in hits (10) and runs (5) in suffering his first loss of the season against North Carolina...recorded his second Saturday start of the season in game two against Miami...had one of his best starts of the season in an elimination game against Stetson in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional...pitched seven scoreless innings scattering six Hatter hits...he struck out four and walked just one...for his efforts he was named to the NCAA Tallahassee All-Region team....was second on the team with five victories during league play as the right hander went 5-2 with a 4.33 ERA...worked 43.2 innings striking out 29 in nine starts.

2006: Appeared in 58 games and made 49 starts as Florida State's left fielder...hit .295 and was one of only six Seminoles with double-digit doubles...had 14 extra base hits and slugged .416...stole six bases in nine attempts...hit .295 versus both lefties and righties...batted .326 with runners on base...led the team with a .444 average with the bases loaded...posted a .309 batting average with two outs and drove in 10 two-out RBIs...recorded multiple hits in 17 of his 49 starts...started all 29 ACC games...was sixth on the team in batting average in conference play...slugged .378...hit .316 versus ACC left-handed pitchers...hit .324 with two outs in a frame and drove in four two-out RBIs...recorded 10 multi-hit games in 29 starts.

2005: Valuable pitcher coming out of the Seminoles' bullpen who pitched in 11 victories in his 14 appearances...held opponent left-handed hitters to a team best .172 batting average...recorded a 4.58 ERA on the season...had two saves and one victory...ranked second on the team in saves with two...posted a 0.00 ERA in four appearances against ACC opponents...pitched against Virginia Tech, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Virginia and allowed zero runs and only four hits in six innings pitched...tied his longest outing of the season of 3.0 innings in a relief appearance against Virginia Tech...also pitched 3.0 innings in a victory over Hawaii-Pacific...first and second saves of his career came against Virginia Tech and Hawaii-Pacific...zero earned runs allowed in eight of his 14 appearances during the regular season...a 0-0 record in two starting assignments...starts came against Hawaii-Hilo and Jacksonville and though Strauss did not earn victories, Florida State won both games...lone victory came in a relief appearance against Stetson, an NCAA Tournament team, on the road...also made several defensive appearances as a late-inning replacement in right field.

HIGH SCHOOL: Hillsborough County Player of the Year...FSWA 2004 second team All-State, All-Suncoast first team and first team All-Western Conference back-to-back years...pitched 70 innings posting a 1.80 ERA with 130 strikeouts and just 12 walks...hit .380 with 12 doubles, 13 stolen bases and 25 RBIs...5-1, 69 strikeouts, 1.26 ERA in 50.0 innings pitched in 2003...also hit .385 with 20 stolen bases...threw a no-hitter in each of his last two seasons...one of the top 100 players nationally according to Baseball America and Team One...rated as the No. 91 high school prospect according to Baseball America and No. 29 high school prospect by Team One Baseball...drafted in the 35th round with the 1077th overall pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2007 MLB Draft...member of the National Honor Society...posted a 4.7 GPA in high school.
