HIGH SCHOOL: A utility player in high school, hit over .400 in three straight seasons at Port St. Lucie High...earned All-State Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore and second team All-State as a junior...finished his junior year with a 1.27 ERA and a 7-4 record while striking out 81 batters in 66 innings...started the FHSAA 2007 5A state semifinal game and allowed just two runs while picking up the win and leading his team to the state championship finals...drafted in the 37th round by the Chicago Cubs in the 2007 MLB Draft.
