2008: Named first team Freshman All-American by Rivals.com and second team Freshman All-American by the NCBWA - both as a utility player...provided major contributions both offensively and defensively in his first season at Florida State...ranked second among Seminole freshmen with a .344 average...appeared in 58 games with 46 starts - 32 in left field and 14 as the Seminole designated hitter...slugged .544 with eight doubles, three triples and six home runs...drove in 36 runs and scored 35 times....was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases...opened the season posting multiple hits in all three games of a series sweep over Duquesne...hit .727 with six RBI and three runs en route to being named ACC Player of the Week...was a double short of hitting for the cycle in the second game against the Dukes as he hit his first collegiate triple and home run in the win...drove in a career-high six runs in the second of a two-game mid-week set against Stetson at home...all six RBI came in his first three at-bats...joined Stuart Tapley as the only two Seminoles to register six RBI on the year...big game against Miami in the series finale going 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a home run and an RBI...also pitched the final 2.2 innings allowing just one run on three hits with four strikeouts...hit .350 in eight games of the NCAA Tournament...batted .500 (5-for-10) during the Super Regionals against Wichita State...tied a career-high with three hits in game two against the Shockers with three RBI and two runs...belted his sixth home run of the season in the win...started both games of the College World Series in the left field...went 7-1 on the mound with a 4.04 ERA in 12 appearances...tied for third on the team with nine starts...collected 33 strikeouts over 55.2 innings of work...made his collegiate debut on the mound against Duquesne...picked up the win in his first start while taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning...worked a career-high seven innings twice against Auburn and Stetson, both starts resulted in wins...in his second start of the season against Auburn, did not allow a run while scattering three hits...took a no-hitter into the fifth inning while striking out a career-high five Tiger batters...biggest win came against Bucknell in an elimination game of the Tallahassee Regional...pitched five innings and left the game with the Seminoles ahead 17-6...posted a .986 fielding percentage with 13 assists while committing just one error.
HIGH SCHOOL: A utility player in high school, hit over .400 in three straight seasons at Port St. Lucie High...earned All-State Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore and second team All-State as a junior...finished his junior year with a 1.27 ERA and a 7-4 record while striking out 81 batters in 66 innings...started the FHSAA 2007 5A state semifinal game and allowed just two runs while picking up the win and leading his team to the state championship finals.
