TENNESSEE: Hit .329 with 12 home runs and 85 RBIs in his first two seasons as a Volunteer...played in 113 games at Tennessee starting every one...his 2007 performance was among the most impressive by a Vol as Delmonico led the team in runs scored (53), home runs (9), RBIs (49) and walks (35)...five of his team-high nine home runs came during the final three weeks of the season while he hit .325 as a sophomore including .290 in SEC play...his 74 hits ranked second on the team...tallied 11 sacrifice bunts giving him 19 for his career, placing him second all-time at Tennessee after just two seasons...finished 2007 with a career-best 12-game hitting streak, while recording 17 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI contests on the year...was named to the SEC All-Tournament team after belting two home runs and driving in four runs en route to posting a .364 average in three games...concluded his sophomore campaign hitting .357 against left-handers and .310 average vs. right-handers; posted a .384 average with runners in scoring position, while hitting .342 with two outs... as a freshman, Delmonico started all 54 games in which he played hitting .335 with 68 hits, 36 RBIs and three homers...he drew a team-high 26 walks and boasted a team-best .421 on-base percentage in 2006...Delmonico led the Volunteers with a .360 average in SEC play his freshman year...finished his rookie season with the sixth-highest batting average among Volunteer freshmen in the 17-year tenure of head coach Rod Delmonico...for his efforts he was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American and earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team...he was also named to SEBaseball.com's All-SEC second team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in three years from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tenn. ...was the 10th-ranked overall prospect at the 2004 East Coast Showcase in Wilmington, N.C. and was the only junior to be ranked...earned All-State and District MVP honors as a junior in 2005 while helping the Admirals to a third-place finish in the state playoffs...played in just 19 games as a sophomore after suffering a broken thumb but hit .362 with 22 RBIs before his injury...competed at the 2004 TBCA Worth Showcase and was also a member of the 2004 Tennessee Junior Sunbelt Team...hit .387 as a freshman at Farragut in 2003 as the Admirals went 48-1, posted a ranking of No. 2 in the country and won the state championship.
