selection...one of only three relief pitchers to be named All-
ACC...first in the ACC and fourth nationally with 15 saves
...tied for the ACC lead in saves recorded in conference
games...finished the season only three saves shy of tying
the all-time Florida State record...named the national
pitcher of the week by the NCBWA (March 1)...tied for
third on the team with seven victories, second on the team
in ERA (2.06), first on the team in opponent batting
average (.196), second in K's (73), first in games finished
(37) and second in hits allowed (34)...allowed earned runs
in only nine of 39 appearances...had a hand in 22 of the
Seminoles' 53 victories (42%)...tied for second on the
team, tied for second in the ACC and sixth in the nation
with 39 appearances...only allowed three extra base hits
in 39 appearances...no FSU pitcher allowed fewer hits per

times - three times in Seminole victories...3.1 innings in a
6-4 win at Hawaii-Hilo (March 5), in a 13-10 loss against
Wake Forest (April 10), in a 7-6 victory over North
Carolina (May 15), 3.2 versus Florida in the Super
Regional (June 11) and a career-high 4.0 innings in a 3-2
victory over North Carolina in the ACC Tournament (May
25)...had a 3.2:1 strikeout to walks ratio on the season...
had a 2.6:1 strikeout to walks ratio (34 strikeouts against
13 walks) against NCAA Tournament teams during the
regular season and in the ACC Tournament...two saves in
two appearances against Florida as the Seminoles' took
two of three from the National Champion Runner-Up
Gators.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2004): One of FSU's top
relievers in 2004...posted a 4-1 record and appeared in
27 games...had the fifth-best ERA on the FSU staff at 3.89
...opponents hit just .213 off Chambliss, which was
second-best among Tribe pitchers...tied for fourth on the
team with one save...struck out more than twice as many
batters as he walked...right-handed batters hit just .205
against the fresh-man, third-lowest on the staff...only one
FSU hurler had a lower opponent average versus lefties
than Chambliss' .224...also second on the team when it
comes to pitching with runners on base as he held
opponents to a .205 average...no FSU pitcher in 2004
had a higher winning percentage and a lower ERA than
Chambliss...was among the top five on the team in a
dozen different categories...was first or second on the team
in nine categories ...led the squad with 19 games finished,
fewest hits allowed (32), triples allowed (0), home runs
allowed (3) and doubles allowed (6)...second on the staff
in win percentage (.800), games in relief (26), runs
allowed (26) and earned runs allowed (17)...fifth-most
appearances amongst all ACC pitchers.
PREP: As a senior, he hit .380 with five home runs
and was named first team All-State as a utility player...saw
playing time at third base in addition to his pitching duties
...recorded 12 strike-outs against Santa Fe High School in
the district playoffs his senior year...pitched five innings
with 10 strikeouts against North Florida Christian and only
allowed three hits...a third team All-State selection at third
base as a junior...hit .401 with two home runs...also
pitched his junior year with a 6-2 record and a 1.77 ERA
...played for the Tallahassee Titans in the Perfect Game

the last three years.
