2012: Made 16 appearances and was a reliable left handed option out of the Seminole bullpen...went 1-0 with a 2.87 ERA in 15.2 innings of work...recorded nine strikeouts and just two walks while holding opponents to a .189 average...worked at least 1.0 inning in 13 outings...threw a career-high 2.0 innings against NC State on May 17...earned his first career win after 1.1 innings of work against Stetson (3/20)...made his season debut in the series finale against Hofstra (2/19) on opening weekend...followed with a perfect ninth in facing the minimum in game 1 vs. FIU (2/24)...pitched 1.1 scoreless innings against Virginia in the ACC Tournament - allowed a hit and struck out one...recorded a career-high two strikeouts in an inning of work against Stanford in game one of the Tallahassee Super Regional...made two appearances at the College World Series pitching against Stony Brook and in the second game against Arizona...worked a scoreless inning against the Seawolves...played summer ball with the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League.
2011: Appeared in three games in his first season at Florida State working a combined 2.0 innings over that span...made his collegiate debut in the middle game against Hofstra...threw a scoreless inning in relief as he issued a walk...pitched at Georgia and against Maine...registered his first collegiate strikeout against the Black Bears.
HIGH SCHOOL: Distinguished himself on and off the field in high school...went 5-1 on the mound as a senior with a 1.52 ERA, helping Alonso reach the 6A semifinals...also batted .286 with three homers while playing first base...earned second team all-conference honors and was named to the Saladino All-Tournament team as a senior...helped his team to the 6A state championship as a junior...went to camp with the 16U USA Team as a sophomore in 2008...outstanding student who won the 2010 Chick-fil-A/Dick's Sporting Goods Scholar Athlete of the Year award...graduated in the top five percent of his class with a weighted 5.8 GPA...a member of the National Honor Society and a senior class officer...also earned Alonso Scholar Athlete of the Year awards in 2007 and 2008.
PERSONAL: : Son of Sherman, Sr. and Brenda Johnson...brother Sherman, Jr. was the Seminoles' starting third baseman (2010-12) and was drafted in the 14th round by the LA Angels...also has a sister Kiara...earned a bachelor of science degree in computational science in the spring of 2013...currently pursuing a masters' degree in computational science...born March 18, 1992.
