Mondragon has run cross country for the past three seasons as a preparation for the middle distances in track. She ran in the FLrunners.com Invitational posting a time of 21:06.36, crossing the tape third overall for FSU and 30th for the meet. In track, the Pueblo, Col. native has excelled running in several mid-distance events for the Tribe including running the third leg of the Atlantic Coast Conference winning distance medley relay team that posted the fastest time of the season. She had three top-ten finishes in the 800m dash, including a second place mark at the Seminole Invite. In 2003, she finished top five in three 800m events. She competed for FSU at the 2003 ACC Outdoor Championships and recorded a personal best time in the 800m with a 2:14.98 mark.

In high school, Mondragon was a cross country state qualifi er and participated in track and fi eld and basketball all four years at South High School. She also earned regional champion honors in the 800m during her fi rst three years under coach Bill Bustillos. The math education major has earned Dean's list honors three times in two years and the ACC honor roll last season.
