Prep A graduate of Miami's Christopher Columbus High, del Valle led his team to the Florida 4A State Cross Country Championship each of his final three seasons...he never finished lower than 10th individually and was second overall as a sophomore in 2008...he capped his high school cross country career by competing at the Nike Cross Nationals in Oregon after winning the NXN Southeast Regional title in Cary, N.C...del Valle was even more impressive on the track for Columbus, winning the 1,600 and 3,200 individual titles both his junior and senior seasons...he record high school PR's of 4:09 and 9:07 in those two events...Columbus also won back-to-back state titles in the 4x800 relay, with del Valle anchoring the unit...he had a personal best 800 split of 1:50 at the 2011 state championship...earned Miami-Dade Athlete of the Year in 2011 and was a two-time All-Dade selection as Runner of the Year. Personal An outstanding student in high school, del Valle graduated with a weighted 4.3 gpa and ranked in the top 10 percent of his senior class...he plans to major in chemical engineering at Florida State and would like to pursue a career in medicine...he is the son of Jose and Irene del Valle...born January 17, 1993. |
