The Race Is On!

The FSU women's cross country team is gunning for a national title, while the men hunt another podium finish

Enters her final season of collegiate eligibility as one of the nation's top middle distance runners, after earning All-American honors in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championships...in her second season of cross country with the `Noles after contributing to FSU's ACC and NCAA South Regional titles, as well their NCAA runner-up finish...determined to have a greater impact on the team's success after scoring in the Seminoles' top five twice in 2010.

Cross Country - 2010: A transfer from the University of Birmingham (U.K.), Brooks was FSU's top finisher, placing second overall, in a dual meet with Boston University on the Franklin Park Course which served as a preview for the ACC Championships...finished 10th overall to earn NCAA All-South Region honors for the champion `Noles, covering the 6k course in 20:24...was in the lineup for FSU's NCAA Cross Country Championships runner-up finish...earned All-ACC Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors.

Track - 2011: Flourished in her first track seasons for the Seminoles, beginning with a fifth-place finish in the 800 at the ACC Indoor Championships...won both the 800 (2:04.88) and 1,500 (4:16.92) at the Kent Taylor Relays...set a new personal best in winning the 5,000 meters at the Florida Relays in 16:09.81...earned All-ACC honors with a third-place finish in the 5,000 at the conference outdoor championship...NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier in the 1,500, where she placed sixth in 4:16.81; good for All-American honors...earned All-ACC Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

Prep/Previous Experience

Placed seventh in the 1,500 at the 2010 Aviva World Trials and UK Indoor Championships...won the 2009 BUCS Indoors 1,500 (4:26.27) and placed third in the BUCS Outdoors 1,500 (4:25.64)...ran a personal best 9:44.4 3,000 meters at the Crawley Athletic Club Easter Sunday Open...finished fourth at the England U23 Championships in the 800m (2:06.32) and later won the SEAA 800 U20/Senior Championships in Watford (2:05.78)...posted a season-best 4:22.23 1,500 at the England Senior Championships...second-place finisher at the 2008 BUCS Indoors in the 1,500...posted a 1,500 personal best at the 2007 British Milers Club Nike Grand Prix (4:19.56) to finish third...registered her personal best 800 (2:05.59) to reach finals at the European Junior Championships in 2007...dropped down to the 400 at the Ivy League Athletics competition and clocked a 57.29 personal best...was third in the 2006 English Schools Outdoor Championships in the 1,500 (4:25.63)...won the 2005 English Schools Outdoor title in the 800 (2:08.06).

Pursuing her master's degree at Florida State in sports psychology and plans to seek doctorate degree...aspires to a career in healthcare...an accomplished pianist...has been on the Dean's List both semesters at FSU...daughter of Peter and Alison Brooks...born June 25, 1988.
